Chapter 21: Found the book

Steve came back from the college earlier than the others as Al and Edgard were busy with other stuff, Steve threw his body over the couch in the sitting area to catch his breath

"Master, here is your water," the maid spoke,

"Thanks,"

Steve held the glass and before he could even take a sip, his eyes fell on the book laying on the glass table before her.

"Why is it here?" Steve mumbled.

"Yes?" The maid asked.

"The book, since when has it been lying there?" Steve pointed at it,

"Oh! I just cleaned up the room, but there was nothing here," she said while rubbing her neck in confusion.

"No worries, you can go now,"

Steve sent her away before placing the glass of water on the table and instead, picked up the book with great interest.

"You are one odd book, how come you disappear without a trace and then appear before me in such an unpredictable way?"

Steve flipped the pages as he talked to the book,

"Whatever, let's read you and see what our lovely princess is up to now."

Steve's tiredness washed away when he happily opened the new chapter of the book named Christopher Chade.

'That night the moon was shining brightly, the wind blew lightly through Isabel's lightly tinted cheeks which looked like soft marshmallows in the moonlight, Ever since she had come to the party, she didn't feel very well so she got out of the banquet to enjoy the moonlit night.

But soon the peace was destroyed by a shrilling voice coming from the garden,

"How can you be so useless... Don't you feel ashamed of your life?"

"Do you know? If you keep on acting like that, the bastard child will become the heir of the company..."

Someone was furious.

"Mom, he is my brother!" A guy answered her with a sad voice.

SLAP!!!...

"He is a bastard, not your brother. I want you to drag him down and walk all over him to get the company in your name, it's about time that old hag gives his shares off to his heir..."

"Start acting like a grownup..."

"Mom—please, I don't want the company, why are you,"

"Shut up—I know the world more than you do, now hurry back home and start planning your strategy..."

A dark shadow walked out of the beautifully trimmed trees.

Isabel's heart sank when she heard those harsh words and she walked close to the bush from where the voices were coming,

Isabel peeked through the bush and saw a guy on his knees, he looked like he was having a hard time so she walked up to him.

"Are you okay? You can tell me, I won't judge you,"

"Pfft, hahaha, how can the FL be so sure that somebody will just tell her their problems when she asks, this is absurd,"

Steve rolled over in laughter as he flipped to the next page.

"Wait, a minute! Why do I feel like I have witnessed this scene, Oh! Holy. It was me-that night—and the sad guy was! The ML of the novel," Steve threw the book on the couch as he jumped up after realizing that the scene in the story was actually played by her,

" Hahaha, this is cool, why am I worried about that! I should be happy because I stole the spotlight for the FL, this is so fun,"

(Grumble)

"Oops, I better eat something," Steve left the book without reading any further.

....

Steve had changed back into Stella and was lying on the balcony, She felt very satisfied after reading the chapter. She felt like finally; she had taken a part of her life back from Isabel. What she didn't realize was Al's presence in the doorway.

"You look happy! That's odd,"

His voice had the usual emotionlessness in it, but still, it felt music to Stella's ear and she smiled at him.

"You know me very well,"

"So what happened?" (Al)

"I found the book,"

Stella giggled.

"And?"

"I read something amusing, I feel like I won a lottery,"

Al's expression didn't change, he looked like he knew the content of the book already.

"That means you read about Sera too," (Al)

"Sera? There was nothing about Sera in the book,"

Stella's stomach felt uncomfortable when she heard Sera's name from Al's mouth in such a serious way.

"Was there something wrong?" Stella asked.

"Sera got kidnapped by a bunch of men and them —"

Al paused as if the words he was going to speak would cause discomfort to Stella.

"They?"

"They did something bad to her,"

Stella's great mood turned sour and her anger boiled up. She felt disgusted with the author.

"I am glad we were there to save her, and nothing happened to her," Al calmed Stella down.

"I have sent out some men to investigate, we will get positive news soon, I promise nothing will happen to our loved ones." Al patted Stella on her back.

"Did you find out who the guy was? The one we saved along with Sera,"

"Yes, He is Lucifer Chade, the story's Protagonist,"

"No! Isn't Christopher Chade the Protagonist?"

"It doesn't seem like that,"

"I will call Ed and Theo, let's tell them about the danger. If those guys can attack Python's precious Daughter, they will definitely come after us."

Stella nodded and got up,

The siblings sat around a table with a serious expression; they were tensed because everyone was going to look up to them in a time of crisis.

"Let's protect Sera first, Or at least tell Python about it," Al was the first one to speak.

"Sis can I help too," Theo said with a cute voice,

Theo was such a cruel person with a cute face, Stella was glad that she was his sister if he were with one of her enemies She would be long dead, Theo looked like a cute bunny-like brother but in reality, that face was only for us,

He was a Trojan horse or in easy words a hacker. Don't know where he learned that stuff, but I feared what he could do.

"You always help, love," I said with a smile.

"I there is something you can do, I will definitely ask you for it," Stella patted his head with affection, and said with a worried voice.

Even though Theo was a genius but ever since he was little he didn't have a strong body and it was dangerous for him to fight in the open grounds.

"Ok so l want one of us to inform Python, it would be better if he does the protection job, we will monitor Sera," Stella continued with Al's words.

"So who will inform the Python's "Stella looked around for volunteers.

Everybody was staring at her," no, I am not doing it again, do you want me dead?"

Nobody responded.

" Sigh, you call yourselves men," Stella said with a stupid expression

" But you are our master you should go to represent us, I will show him how sincere we are," Ed said while grinning

" I am out of here, if someone wants to talk to me I will be on the terrace, and if somebody is hungry for a midnight snack, I made cookies"

Stella stood on the balcony and breathed in the fresh air.

On a terrace not very far away a man was talking on the phone, and he was furious at that time

"How is it possible? That you can't find a single damn thing about the person I told you about, and you still know nothing about who attacked me, are you seriously even capable of doing that job?" Lu was seriously angry " if I don't get the report until 9 tomorrow, you can hand me over your resignation letter" he turned off his phone

"Unless people," he muttered to himself, but then he caught the glimpse of the mansion next to his. The lights were still on and there was a girl on the terrace standing quietly.

"So people live here? I thought it was only me who liked to live in a deserted neighborhood" he was still looking at the pretty figure with calm eyes.
