Emon gradually had a pretty good idea exactly why the Colossus used Chevron Shield. He knew about her colours and quietly did the job. Hence when she stared at him knowingly, he lowered his eyes a little.
Red was the most fatal shade in the spectrum of Enamour apart from Black. Red majors were almost nil in this world since the only host of this shade could be a female. Up until now, only two disciples had this particular shade...
...and they almost caused the Enamour world to become extinct.
Emon had an interest in the history of Enamour and the art of stratagems. Someday she had hoped to become a Liasion if her Major never bloomed. That way, atleast she could be useful to the Enamour civilisation. All those years she had gone through numerous facts in the history of the colours, especially Red. No one in the atelier has ever heard to have the shade Red as Major. So they naturally presumed it was a Myth Major. Emon had accidentally found out a book on the history of the Enamour Spectrum in the library. There was only one page, written in hand, about the properties of Red and its Major's destructive nature.
Emon understood the concern of the Colossus. He too seemed to be aware of the fact and purposedly locked her Majors with the toughest shield.
"Go back now... get some rest."
The old guy said and walked towards his quarters.
"Red and Blue"
Mahir spoke for the first time.
"Such great shades got wasted on an invalid."
Saying this he threw a cold glare at Emon and walked out of the room.
Ashm stared at Emon for a while before directing his gaze on his Mentor,
"Mahavar, it's fine that you are our Mentor, but please select a proper disciple for the team...
Not a freak!"
Then without a glance, he too left the room.
Silence
Then Mahavar spoke,
"Are you sad they hurt you?"
Emon smiled at the question, and looked at Mahavar.
"They almost got themselves killed while protecting me...
I'm glad that they saved me."
That night Mahavar wrote something on a piece of paper, and placed it on his desk. Then he stuffed his phone, sunglass, earmuffs and a beanie and zipped his pockets.
He smiled maliciously as he thought what he was about to do...
That old fart! He's got to pay for being sly and forcing him to agree to Chevron Shield.
Locking his door, he shot forward with a shade of Chetwode.
Mahir switched off his phone. His body ached from the ordeal for the last few hours. It was his first time experiencing the Sealing process. He never imagined it would be this hard.
'Maybe it was more so because she had two Majors...'
'But what about-'
Knock knock!
Mahir glanced at the clock,
'Who is it at this time of night?'
He clicked open the door to find a grinning Mahavar, a grumpy Ashm and an agonised Emon standing with their backpacks.
"What on earth...?"
Mahavar didn't give him time to react and quickly spoke,
"We are going out of town for our team practice. So get your belongings within five minutes."
Mahir looked at the trio for a heartbeat and then banged shut the door.
Useless bunch!
They were still teaming him with that invalid! Truly useless !
Right then, he felt a sharp sting in his chest. His breathing was blocked! Absolutely blocked!
He staggered on his feet and pulled open the door.
Instantly the feeling vanished... It was as if nothing had ever occurred.
"You..." Mahir said angrily while panting.
Mahavar smiled like a boss, he had latched his shade Periwinkle the moment he saw Mahir. He knew this unsocial brat would never agree to his plans. His Periwinkle did a fine job!
"Get ready, the train's about to leave"
The ride to Darjeeling was especially fun to watch as the three adjusted with each other. Mahavar took the left upper berth and left the three to decide which ones they wanted to take. Ashm quickly threw his bag on the right upper berth and climbed up. Emon and Mahir were left with the lower two.
Upper berths were best to sleep in so Ashm didn't give them a chance to snatch away his favourite place. He looked haughtily at Mahir. The latter glared back at Ashm and dropped his bag in the right lower berth.
Emon was watching with amused eyes as those two boys behaved like kids. She fluffed the pillow and put in on her lap. Then she looked outside the window.
Mahavar too watched the three reluctantly adjust with each other. He had purposedly chosen a different place for practice. Before practice, they first needed to get used to each other, have a good realtionship. If this basic thing was not achieved then all the world's practice would lead them nowhere.
He looked at Emon who was smiling from ear to ear as she watched everything outside.
"It's your first time isn't it?"
Mahavar asked as he noticed her happy expression.
"Yeah" she nodded.
First time?
So she had never been on a train before?
Ashm looked at her. All these years she had never been anywhere?
Mahir , if listened to this thing, didn't comment nor express and continued to listen to music.
"I like this ride..." Emon said happily.
Minutes later they had all lain down, getting ready to sleep. The train sped up, lulling them to a deep slumber.
Suddenly something pinched at Mahavar. His Major was restless. He opened his eyes and gradually sensed a malicious presence. It wasn't from their compartment, but was close.
He slowly got down from his berth.
"Emon?"
Emon woke up instantly.
Mahavar frowned at this. How can such a sound sleeper wake up with just a whisper?
She looked at Mahavar with clear eyes. Then quietly got down and climbed to Mahavar's berth.
Mahavar watched her with a bewildered look. How did she know what I was about to say?
He had planned to let Emon switched berths with him since it won't be safe for her to sleep in the lower berth with the dangerous person lurking around.
His Major gave another tug and he felt the presence closer.
He looked at Emon who had a knowing look in her eyes and that stunned Mahavar.
Wasn't her Majors locked? How can she feel any energies?
She then glanced at Mahavar, her entire expression had changed, it was as if she wasn't a 17 year old girl rather an experienced leader who had seen and gone through enough. Someone... really familiar.
She curved a lips slightly and then went to sleep.
Mahavar was stupefied...
What was that just now?
He then tried to locate the person but... the presence was gone!
simply gone!
He looked outside, the train was still moving... how can the presence vanish?
He glanced at the sleeping form of Emon.
What secrets are you hiding?
