Chapter 69: Part 2- Birth of the Grandmaster
Pi never felt fatherly love in his life. The kids around his age were all with their fathers. They bragged about their fathers and told them about their activities. This ignited the deep fire in his heart for many years.
The woman kept her silence as she watched her son being stubborn about his father. She knew he hated his father for abandoning her family, but she also knew he wasn't such a person to mercilessly leave his family to die. Her heart kept clinging to the hope that was brightly burning inside her heart.
5 years passed in the blink of an eye. The woman was beautiful as before, but her complexion wasn't that good due to the illness she had. Her terminal illness came back and weakened her body, not being able to train anymore.
Pi put the soup in her mouth while observing her face. He could see his mother wasn't getting better. She was getting worse day by day. Her hands were trembling from the weakness and she couldn't walk anymore.
Pi's heart was bleeding with pain and despair since he couldn't find a doctor or a shaman in this village. So, he picked up rare herbs from the region and kept mixing them to find the right concoction for his mother.
" Mom, you will be alright. I have mastered the heart mirror. Your son is already stronger than grandpa and father."
Pi said, tears trickling down his cheeks. He was doing his best to hold down his tone to keep his mother calm.
The woman already foresaw his intentions as she shook her head with a gentle smile. Her time was already limited because she had to use her qi to maintain her life. A long time ago, her dantian was shattered by the dark spirit that was roaming in the forest, but she managed to keep it under control thanks to her technique. However, time was cruel to her as it slowly corroded away her last remaining life force.
" Son, don't hate your father. He is the man I have chosen in my life and he gave his everything to us. Please promise me that you would find your father and bury me next to the tree where I gave birth to you. I want to rest with the spirit that gave you life."
The woman pleaded with her son with a calm tone. Pi couldn't hold it anymore as he hugged his mother with his might.
1 year later.
Pi stood next to the tree where there was a craving on its bark. He hang his head down and kowtowed on the ground to show his respect to his mother.
" Mother, your son is already at level 6. I will fulfill my promise to you."
Pi said with a trembling voice as he straightened his back. He took out an old parchment from his backpack and proceeded to the area where it was marked in red.
1 month later.
A single man was drifting on the ocean in an old boat. He had a giant mace behind him and his head was full of hair. His clothes were tattered everywhere and he smelled so bad that even the people avoided making contact with him, but his eyes were burning with passion.
Pi grabbed sail and used his qi to look ahead. He saw a giant port in front of him, bustling with traffic. A slight smile formed on his dirty face as he knew reached his destination. A wild land that mainly consisted of steppes and deserts- the Southern Continent known as the land of the Gods.
Pi looked at the ocean and dipped his head. Although the salt was horrible, he wanted to clean his face with water. Pi was used to using sea waters to live and he could feel the existence of the spirits that were helping him through the journey.
Bang*
His boat reached the port and he jumped up from the boat to the port. His big body immediately attracted the attention of the people since they rarely saw big people like him. Especially since he was from the eastern continent.
" Excuse me, do you know where I can find the mercenary guild?"
Pi asked in a perfect southern language because he learned it from his mother.
