Chapter 188: Chapter 34 Face off

Swoosh*

The land was barren and empty except for exposed frozen land, ruins, and snow. The lone figure sat alone in the ruins, pondering about his plan. He had collected enough power to collect the soul of his beloved, but he couldn't think of possibilities of almighty beings like gods and demons.

" We have a guest."

Dickenson bowed his head, showing the image of an armored man who was standing before their castle with a poker face.

Makarov recognized this face because he sacrificed himself for them. However, it was all for naught in the end since his queen was murdered by the demon and his closest person stood against him without her full mind.

" Bring him in."

He ordered his men to bring Castella into his domain, believing he was undefeatable in his domain. He could dominate every undead due to the nature of his power.

The guards took a little time to bring himself. The deceased king stood before the fallen king with a stoic look.

" Boy, you have turned your back on me, but it is alright. As long as you can promise me that you will do nothing when I accomplish my mission I can forget about your mistakes."

Castella spoke lightly, resting his hand on his sword handle. Besides, his unusual appearance other undead didn't feel a single ounce of energy, but Makarov was different. He felt the energy that was surrounding the castle.

If he was the impersonation of death, Castella felt like he was the destruction and chaos. The howling sound of madness roared out from his soul which clashed with his chill.

" Make a way!"

Makarov ordered his men to retreat as he walked before Castella. His grey eyes stared into his face, wanting to end this because this man would become the obstacle in his way.

The bone-chilling cold emitted from his body, freezing the hall, but Castella stood unharmed while being surrounded by black mist. He kicked him in the guts, pinning him to the wall.

With a single swift move, he cut the castle in one slash. The debris flew everywhere as he threw a deathly energy ball to the wall, detonating the entire castle. The energy devastated the entire topography, creating a giant hole in the middle of the city.

" How amusing! I heard you were the strongest king in your country's history. It seems to be true."

Makarov came out behind from the giant ball with a longsword in his hand. He quickly confronted him, slashing his armor with his cold sword.

However, he miscalculated the strength of his opponent. Before he could cleave off his arm, Castella stabbed his stomach and slashed his thigh which staggered him. He raised his sword to block the sword, but to his surprise, he was punched in the chin.

As an undead, he didn't have nerves, even so he realized he was in the air. The punch contained a powerful physical force that surpassed his strength. He understood he was no match against him if he fought head-on with his body.

Therefore, he used his frost to corrode his soul and slow his moves. Fortunately, he was able to hinder his rhythm. The terrain was in his favor and he had superior magic power and death energy, making him a superior magic swordsman against him. However, he also noticed Castella's irregular healing power. Although undeads are tough and regenerate themselves quickly, Castella had abnormal regenerative power.

" This is troublesome. At this rate, we will both kill each other off. How about a little ceasefire."

He stopped in his tracks, looking at him expressionless. The duo observed each other, believing it was impossible to kill each other now unless they killed themselves, so they took the obvious path.

However, they didn't think about something. A single man was standing on the hill, watching their decision. He saw they weren't in their best condition and knew it was a chance. He opened the scroll inside his back, revealing the ancient seal that was holding something inside.

" I will probably live forever with a cursed fate, but in the end it is worth it."

He smiled helplessly, drawing out the ancient magic from its slumber. The time froze under its might as the world turned grey.
