Chapter 127: Chapter 33 Yeager the prodigy
" Round 2- Fight!"
The referee called the fighters to fight as they saw through each other with deadly glares. It didn't matter if they hurt themselves or not because they had only one goal in their mind and that was to make money to feed their family.
As a fighter, I fought against them once a week to get a little bit of allowance for my family since there was no legal way to make money in the slums without being caught. Thus, I always train myself by fetching water or helping others to improve my basic athletic abilities and in my free time I often mimic other fighters to learn about their styles such as weapon handling and hand-to-hand combat.
There are a lot of interesting things that happen in this cage. I have met with Eastern people who had unique fighting styles and energy called qi, but they refused to teach me due to their traditions.
" Hey, isn't it,our little Yeager? Do you need more money?"
The ring leader asked me while laughing with amusement. He never underestimated me just because I am a kid, instead, he taught me to fight and other useful skills. He said I was similar to his youth, burning with passion and fueled with the desire to improve himself.
" No, Mister. I just wanted to today's battle."
I said, smiling with excitement because I saw the familiar garment of Eastern people and a pair of irregular ears that was on his head. His muscles were freaking huge compared to others and he was looking at us.
" Ah, you wanted to see the newcomer. He was quite an interesting fellow when I saw his history. A man who was able to hold off the entire Roxian elite squad by himself."
Ringmaster spoke while eating the snack with calmness. His eyes were flicking with various colors under the light, seemed to be interested in this man. Although he was an old man, he was one of the most infamous brawlers in the past, so it was rare to attract his attention in this ring because there were only so many handful people who could utilize martial arts or magic arts. Especially most of them failed to react to his pressure.
" Mister, do you think he can win?"
I asked with curiosity, gazing between them with wonder. It was impossible to beat this old man whose power went beyond a normal knight or a mage, he was able to shatter rocks with his bare fist much less human skulls.
" Hmm, he does have qualities of the warrior, but he is too young. He seems to be only around 20 or so."
He commented on his thoughts, looking at the man.
I couldn't believe his words because that man was way too old for 20 years old.
" You don't believe in me, right? Brat, look at his body. Those muscles and skin tone aren't matching his face. Also, he has a mask on his face. I believe he is a child of some renowned place though I don't care about it as long as he brings me more money."
The old man explained while shrugging his shoulders with helplessness. I knew he was a jokester, but when it comes to his profit he doesn't fear anyone in this arena. He had just the backbone to cover his steps.
" You seemed to be having fun, boy. I thought you were helping others around this time."
A man with a giant greatsword came next to us, sitting down on the ground with nolanchy. He pulled a flask of whiskey from his belt and drank without any care.
This man was one of my teachers, Executioner. He was a notorious warrior in the past, but after coming here he decided to not take the life of others.
" You talk big, brat. Look at that youngling, he might be one of those young clan leaders."
He scoffed, rolling his eyes with displeasure on his face. What could he say, this man was one of his champions and was loyal to him despite his prowess and authority.
" Teacher, I want to learn qi from them."
I said, blinking my eyes with innocence. I swear this look of mine can smite anyone except for my father.
