Chapter 183: Chapter 31 To live or to die

The tent door was opened as Jocylee entered the tent where she saw Makarov looking at her with horror. He threw the towel to the ground and ran to her side, supporting her to lie down. His pupils trembled, showing his inner fear.
" Jocylee, what happened to you? Why are you covered in blood and what is with the hole? Doctors or priests come in and heal her!"
Makarov cried out desperately, pressing on her wounds to stop her bleeding. He knew his mana would destroy her organs because his mana was a violent type like hers. He could freeze her up, but that would kill her in seconds.
The bloody hand grabbed his hand, signaling him to stop as she gazed into his eyes. To her, he was still her crybaby cousin who would always follow her and she promised she would protect him even if she dies in the process.
" Listen, Mak. I don't have much time. Besides, Kassian killed all of our guards, so he probably had killed the support units near us. Give the elixir to Jenna and stop this madness. We had shed too much blood, including great Castella and righteous Golla had died to save us. You can't massacre innocents and start the flames of war. The demon wants that. Please, I beg you, my cousin. Live happily and do the right thing for us."
Her words faded into darkness as her hand weakly falls to the floor. Makarov hugged her tightly as he sobbed with pain. The uncontrollable rage boiled inside his heart as he remembered two words inside his head which were " Demon " and " Kassian ".
" I will hunt you down and tear you apart."
He gnashed his teeth so hard that his gums bleed. He took the bloodied bottle from her chest. He hesitated for a moment whether he should use it on her, but her dying wish solidified his heart as he headed toward his queen.
His queen's face was swollen, but he could see her beauty and he gently caressed her face.

He pulled out the medicine and fed it into her mouth, revitalizing her body. The miracle medicine lived up to its name as it immediately took effect on her.
" Jenna, my love! I..."
Before he could tell what happened, a sharp dagger penetrated his heart. His eyes widened as he saw the scarlet pupils in her eyes.
" Too bad. I took her body."
Red laughed coldly, showing his teeth. He knew Jocylee would reach here since he saw the power dormant inside her. Fortunately, she had died from her injury and he didn't have to waste time on her.
The blood dripped down as the tent froze at a rapid rate. Red could feel the wrath of the king.
" An ice ability. What a great power for my future pawn!"
Red said with delighted. He knew ice ability was the best ability for the dead. However, he underestimated the power of love and it shocked him.
The freezing room stopped before the queen's body, but Red felt his body freezing from the unknown power similar to Jocylee's fire and Golla's fire. Although he was confident against divine power, Makarov's power wasn't that of divine. It was the pure manifestation of will and emotions that was created from the negative like ice itself. The negative power that symbolized demons.
" No, it can't be! Stop!"
He shouted, trying to stop him before he turned into a demon or something similar to that. However, his weakened self wasn't able to reach him in time.
The soul of the king was split in half as death harvested half of it while the other transformed into something unexpected. A singularity that defied fate itself.
" I will kill you, demon."
His ice-cold eyes were devoid of any emotions. He grabbed his beloved by the throat and pulled out his soul. Unfortunately for him, the primordial demon had already slipped away, so he shattered the remaining thing in her body which was her real soul.
" No!"
He realized how terrible a mistake he made and he tried to mix it back. Despite his efforts, the soul didn't go together, scattering around the world because death doesn't claim the shattered soul.
