Chapter 92: Chapter 1 The greatest mind behind the scenes
The sky was dark as always. It had been over a century since that blue sky and stars appeared in this country. Smog clogged the sky which was never curtained by the clouds.
The sound of iron machinery and the shout of the people could be heard in the street as they boiled with business. Unlike other countries, Roxan had the greatest population development and resources. Roxan was the strongest country in the western country, not fearing any country throughout its glory days. Even Southern Empire had avoided creating conflicts with them due to their nature.
A single gentleman sat near the window as he gazed outside. He calmly sipped the tea and sliced the cake that was placed in front of him. His golden-rimmed monocle was eye-catching with his exquisite face that was without any blemishes. However, no women or men dared to approach him because of his identity.
The butler stood next to him while placing the newspaper on his table. He stood upright whilst serving him.
" How is the day going, Albert? Has the grand general agreed with our plan?"
He asked while reading the newspaper. His eyes were focused on the contents, but his body was saying otherwise. Cold white gloves turned the pages, expecting answers from the butler.
" He had declined as my lord had expected. He said he was loyal to the throne and he would slay anyone who dared to touch it."
Albert said, filling his cup with tea. The aroma of expensive tea was quite fragrant. The gentleman slightly paused as he pondered his plan.
" So, that is his answer. Then, he gave me no choice. We will move on that day with others. I will notify his highness about this. You deliver it to the general."
The man said, pulling down his monocle. He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and he wiped it with care. His cold eyes were looking at the image that was reflected on the glass.
" I will do as you bid, lord."
Albert bowed while looking at the man. He knew this man was ruthless and cold. However, he had only one weakness and that was his home country. To regain the glory that was lost in history, he didn't fear committing the crime of treason.
" Good, I expect a positive answer from you."
The man said, putting his monocle back on. He gently sipped the tea while looking outside again. He saw the bustling street and the smoking chimneys, but his eyes were fixated on the single building that was towering over the other things.
" The palace will be busy soon."
He said in a gentle manner. The shadows which he hid in his sleeves, would be cleansing this city soon.
In the southern suburbs of the capital, there was a mansion with the logo of the wolf. Nobody dared to go to this place since it was the home of the strongest warrior in the kingdom.
" General Ragnar, here is the report of the army. The grand general requested your supervision."
The head butler said, taking out a pile of papers from the paper bag.
" Place it on the left side of the table. I will look over it soon. Bring me a cup of coffee."
Ragnar said while stamping the document. The butler gently placed the document on his table as he left to brew the coffee.
Ragnar sighed, flipping the pages with a serious expression. Despite his huge build, he was a workaholic and smart person. Although he was a cold brute man, he never complained about his duty.
Knock*
He heard the knocking on his door. Ragnar put down his document as he knew who was the owner of this sound. He raised his eyebrows with a calm look because he expected his arrival.
" Come in."
His calm voice traveled through the room as the young man in armor came in. He was a handsome man with jet-black hair and black armor. However, he excluded the chilling atmosphere like a sword that was ready to be drawn.
" Father, I have completed my mission. I would like to ask for another one."
He said, gazing at Ragnar with a serious look. His eyes were filled with rage and hatred for his father.
