Chapter 124: The Altar

After George created five flowers each, he planted all of them outside the lich tower. He also didn't forget to place the mana pool nearby, so the dayblooms and the nightshades could store any excess mana to the mana pool.

Usually, these mana will turn into liquid and was very concentrated. You could possibly store it inside a bottle and drink it to give you some "exciting" effects.

This thing is called mana in a bottle. The Mana in a Bottle is an item added by Botania. Very little is known about this item, so what it actually does it based loosely on player interactions with it.

When the player takes a drink from it, the player briefly acquires positive and negative effects. Some "exciting" events may occur.

There are a few recorded incidents that have occurred when somebody who is not in their right mind tried to drink this concentrated mana like a booze. And booiii... It ain't pretty..

Some of the player acquires a 5-minute Night Vision status effect, while other player was afflicted by Nausea and Blindness status effects simultaneously, not only that... there's this player who drinks this concentrated mana in a bottle and he dropped everything from his inventory... except for the Mana in a Bottle, there's also this unlucky guy who got a random block falling on the player's head, and then.. there's also this Water source block that forms at the player's feet, a few of them also had experienced this ridiculous thing... they are propelled high into the air and died due to the fall damages, A few lucky ones could receive super fast and uncontrollable speed very briefly, There are also a few incidents that a Pixie briefly spawns nearby, there's also this weird thing that drains the player's health, or the lucky player is given a few absorption hearts for 120 seconds, the player is set on fire for 4 seconds, a few tiny explosions launches the player a few blocks in the air, a Signal Flare of a random color will spawn near the player, there's also this weird incident that made the player's view is set to a random pitch and yaw, the player could also get pushed back by two blocks, and a group of Skeleton Archers on Skeleton Horses spawn.

Well... If you still confused by this thing, you could think of it as a lucky block, but it's the liquid version of it.

There's a ton of effects after you consumed the mana in a bottle. Maybe there's more of these "exciting" effects if someone is willing to test all of them. Even though people said that if you drink this mana in a bottle, you could get either positive or negative effects, but as you can see... The majority of them is not overly positive.

Now with the dayblooms and the nightshades planted in the dirt, it will slowly produce mana passively and it would take a long time to see any of this liquified mana. So, George decided to look at the grasses that he used some mutandis.

"Woah... It's only an hour, but they are already mutated?" George was astonished by what he just saw. The mutandis that he created before was split up into six parts before he used them on the surrounding grasses.

One of them turned into a red-capped mushroom, while one of them turned into a fern and dead bush. Even though from the first three blades of grass, it went very wrong, but it was very normal. You don't need just knowledge, but there's this unspeakable rule about luckiness to get the saplings that you wanted with this mutandis thingy.

The rest of it wasn't any better than the first three blades of grass. Even though they turned into different saplings, but it was the most common one. Like birch tree sapling and spruce saplings.

"Okay... It took too many time and efforts just to make a sapling to appear! So instead of making more of this mutandis thingy, maybe I should just buy the sapling directly from the shop!" He thought for a while before he bought all of them.

For the saplings, he bought a rowan sapling, an alder sapling, and a hawthorn sapling. For the normal plants, he bought one amber moss, one glint weed, and also one Spanish moss. He just casually planted them on the grounds and let them grows, so when he wanted all of them, he could just pluck all of it from his garden.

"Okay! Now... Maybe I should set up the altars and put any necessary items to enhance the power of nature from this altar." Fortunately, this is the twilight forest. This place is surrounded by a myriad amount of trees, so the natural energies wouldn't be much a problem with him, as long he doesn't cut all of them.

The altar was a very simple thing to set up. You just need to place it on the ground in 2x3 area and covered the top with a red cloth. The material that was used on the altar isn't ordinary by any means. Altar blocks are crafted by using Stone Bricks, a Water Bottle, Rowan Logs, Breath of the Goddess and Exhale of the Horned One. So it obviously not a regular blocks.

Maybe a few people will ask you on why did you need to make an altar? or something on that line... The altar itself is a focal point to concentrate the magic present in the surrounding area into a single usable source of power. Since this witchery mod's witchcraft is a method to harness the power of nature, placing an altar in a location with little or no living things will yield very little magic to work with. There is a reason why most witches huts are found deep in dark forests or swamps!
