Chapter 5: New Friends!
"So after I was discovered hiding in the tree, I was able to surprise him and get away but he was sill determined to catch me" the chieftain told me.
"Wait so what happened after, did he catch you or were you able to escape?" I ask being curious as to what's going to happen.
"Well it wasn't what you think, I didn't escape nor did I get caught instead I covered my self in mud and hid in the shadow.
He wasn't able to see me so he went around looking for me, right when he was in font of me I put both my hand together in a ball and two of my fingers forwards." Don't tell me he's gonna do that.
"When I came out of my hiding spot he was startled but it was to late, I move my hand forward with all my strength into his butt and he let out the most girlish scream." I knew it!
"After that event he was never to be seen again and people say they can still hear the scream of a woman to this day". The chief said retelling one of his stories in his younger days to me.
*laughing* "That has to be one of the funniest stories anyone has ever told me." I said between breath but I was able to gain some energy back from all that laughing.
"You know this actually reminded me of this fight I once saw in my younger days." I told him while remembering about something from the past, it's one of the things my favorite characters did.
"Really than it must be quite the fight than. Anyway where were we, oh yeah want to meet the others in the village. They will definitely be surprise to see someone like you there".
"Hmm sure let see what their reaction will be to seeing me. I also want to see how this village looks like, it must be a huge village given how many people live here".
Now you must be wondering how did we get this friendly with each other? What happened to all the business talk and interrogation, did something happen for us to be able to talk to each other like we were long time friends.
Well you see while we were discussing weather they would take me in or not, in that time spans I was able to talk about my selves to him. After that situation we were confutable around each other, well it's more towards him being able to talk to me easily.
We would tell each other stories about ourselves but most of them told by me were made up.
Even though I think the old man knew this he still laugh at them and in response told me some of the funnier moments in his younger days.
We would found each other's stories enjoyable, this is how me and the chieftain were able to form a kind of kinship with each other.
Back to what we are doing at the moment, the old man is taking me towards the gate while also explaining some rule to me.
When we get there the chief would explained thing to the guard about me and I'm not here to cause any disturbance and that I'm actually quite peaceful. I mean I wouldn't disagree with him but that doesn't mean I'm afraid to cause some mayhem.
After hearing about the situation the guards would than notify the other villagers of my visit.
When we made it to the other side of the gate, I was able to see the village even if it's only a part of the whole thing.
"Wow the village look way better than I have thought of before, it even surpasses what I imagine" I told him my honest answer. I'm actually impressed by the village design.
"While I thank you for your kind word but it is not needed as this doesn't compare to the capital or the richer village's" he wouldn't be wrong in that assumption as the other village that are closer to the capital would have more resources for their village to prosper.
Oh are you wondering what could be this capital the chief is talking about.
Well the capital is like a kingdom of short but it doesn't have a king right now as they are still trying to see which noble families should rule. So just think of this capital as a eventual kingdom.
After the chief explained this to him, but Oswald wouldn't accept this kind of view so he told him.
"Come on chieftain you are being to humble even if you are right, you gotta enjoyed what you have around you more, have more pride in your village."
I said trying to change the view of the village the chief has in his mind.
"I guess you are right but anyway the people are here they must be gathering to see who it is that's visiting so you should get ready to start your introduction or I can do that for you if you want."
He told me to get ready to meet the people of this village but I already have a introduction in mind.
"Don't worry your self with the small stuff I've already have a introduction in plan." I said trying to ease the chief nervousness.
We made it further into the village but not to far from the gate.
While we wait for the villagers to come out and see the visitors which is me. A crowd started to form around us and their reaction is as you expected they are in awe by my appearance but nothing bad happened as just being near my presence calm them down.
As I'm waiting for more of the village people to show up I felt something or someone. I don't know how to explain it but what I can say for surety is that who ever this person is that he will leave quite the impact in the history to come.
Once everyone has gathered the chieftain did a hand gesture which made all the villagers quite down. When everyone has stopped talking he started to give some kind of speech.
"Everyone I have something to say and as you have already noticed we have a visitor. What I wanted to say is that you treat him with upmost respect and show him around the village."
As he gave them a simple warning not to be rude to me and also to treat me with respect which I appreciate, but he wasn't quite done with his speech yet it's still getting to my part.
"Now you must be wondering why did I gather everyone for just this person. Well why don't we let the person in question introduce himself." Once he was done speaking he already set the stage for me to introduce myself.
But before I give an introduction I ask the chieftain what the village is called as I forgot to ask him.
"Oh yeah I didn't tell you the name of the village. The name of the village is called 'Xel' and the reason it's called that is because that is my family name."
As he is telling me the name of the village he also explain to me why it's called that.
Once I got what I wanted to know I start giving my introduction. "Greeting to the people of village Xel, I'm am the person your chieftain is referring to.
You may called me Oswald and I'm just a simple traveler trying to learned what I can from the many places around the world.
I must say you have quite the beautiful village, I hope to see what I can learned from you." I complimented their village and try to appease them, hopefully they see me in a good light.
"In return I will have to see what I can do for you or maybe I can teach you something that may benefit the village. That is all I have to say for now, thank you for listening."
Once I was done with my introduction all the villagers started talking among their selves. Some seem nervous while most of them look excited to meet me.
"If there are any questions you have in mind and you want me to answer them I can but only for awhile as I can only answer so much." After saying that I get bombarded with ton of questions.
The first question I answer is "how long have you been traveling" which is not bad for a question so I responded like this. "Hmm if I have to say it will be around 2 year since I started traveling" why did I say 2 year well it's because I've been in the white room 2 days now.
The next question came from a kid at the front of the crowd and what he ask was quite interesting if I have to say.
What did he ask me well what he wanted to know was "what is out there, is there some kind of secret we don't know about lurking around hidden in places that haven't been discovered yet?"
This is quite the question for a kid to ask, why would he be asking me this, shouldn't he be focusing on playing with his friends instead of trying to find the secret of the unknown.
When the kid ask me this everyone along with me and the chief goes quite but I wen quite for a different reason but I still answer the question nonetheless.
"What is out there you ask? What secret lies hidden. Well all I can say is that if you want to know what is out there you first must be determined to take the first step." I answer his first question.
"For if you ever want to seek these hidden secret you first must have confidence and once you learn to do that the next step would be to trust in yourself. That is as much as I can say for now". I answer his second question.
You must be wondering why I answer like that, are the thing I said just some word I made up to entertain him.
Not exactly, so why did I? Well let just say this kid will leave quite the mark on history.
