His eyes began to fluctuate between scarlet and golden before his arm reached towards her, stroking her smooth cheek with his scaled fingers.

Yinfra felt a slight tingle travelling down her spine; although it wasn't his flesh, his feelings of affection and relief were transmitted to her.

'I regret not speaking to him when I first came over here... Sometimes I forget he's not like my sister, countless lifetimes older than him and me. He needs to release those feelings of anger and self-blame.'
