Chapter 1: Dragon Ball: Successor's Reborn, Shin Saga- "The Hakitto Arc." Prologue
(Earth, Age: 904)
Somewhere, north of West City, was a huge, lush forest that was brimming with life. It was Saturday, just after lunch, as a young boy around 13 years of age trotted through the brush without a single care in the world. He was carrying a basic fishing pole in one hand, and a tackle box in another. The tackle box was pretty large, obviously filled to the brim with fishing equipment. However, though extremely heavy, there was no strain on the boy's face. It almost seemed as if he were carrying a lunch box instead.
The boy was dressed quite strangely. Instead of normal clothes, he wore a dark blue GI with a black belt, and with a black undershirt. The GI gave his skinny body a tiny bit of bulk. Why he wore it? Because it was comfortable, plus you never know when you could have an opportunity for a fight or some training. At least, that's what the boy thought.
The boy realized he was getting close to the fishing spot, and a grin spread across his face.
???: "Finally!" The boy stretched. "Now I can finally get some RnR!"
The boy suddenly stopped, as he smelled something funny within the air.
???: "Hang on.." He sniffed the air. "Why do I smell something burning...?
The boy dropped his stuff and followed the smell, going off the path. He encountered some foliage, which he struggled getting through.
???: "Come on... I can get through this crap." He kept going, following the smell, until he finally came to a clearing within the forest.
He put his hands on his hips and began looking around.
???: "Alright, now where is the source of that-" He was suddenly cut short, as he located the source. To his right was some kind of spherical Machine, which had smoke coming out of the cracks that covered it. It almost looked as if it had fallen from the sky, or perhaps crashed, as there were groves in the ground where it seemingly looked as if it had been dragged through the soil.
???: "Wh-What the hell is that?" He looked a bit frightened as he stared at it.
???: "Its... some sort of pod or something..." He carefully began to approach it, walking around it so that he could get to what looked like the opening. Then, he slowly walked towards it.
When he finally got to the opening, he wasn't able to see inside. So, he carefully grabbed the door of the pod, and as he began to tense up, he ripped the door clean off it's hinges.
???: "Wow." He looked at the door, which he held in his hands. "I thought that would be more difficult." He tossed it to the side, and it hit the ground with a loud clatter.
When he peered within the pod, he went into a state of uttershock. Laying in the pod was a girl, who looked like she was at least 10 or 11 years of age. She was unconscious, tear stains all over her face. She was wearing strange attire, which looked like some kind of armor, which consisted of a rather large breastplate with shoulder pads, and underneath was some sort of body suite made out of some kind of rubber-like material.
??? - Mind: Oh my God... is she dead? Is she hurt??
Without thinking much about the consequences, he leaned into the pod and pulled her out, moving ten feet away from the pod and setting her on the ground.
He began to examine her for any signs of injury, which he found none.
He sighed, and stood up straight
???: "Well, guess she's alright... but who is she?" He stared at the girl, pondering the thought- when suddenly, she began to stir.
He watched as she opened her eyes slowly. She sat up and rubbed them with the back of her hand, and after a moment, she lowered it and glanced around at the surroundings. Since it was unfamiliar, she started breathing a bit quicker, and that's when she saw the boy standing in front of her.
???: "H-Hey there..." He said, as he slowly raised his hand and waved at her.
The girl froze, and stared back. The boy slowly lowered his hand, unsure of what to do.
???: "Are... Are you alri-" Suddenly, the girl got up so fast the boy could hardly see her, as she made a large gap between him and her as she leaped backwards.
She got into a crouched down stance, as if she was ready to pounce, as she bared her teeth at him.
???: "H-Hey!" He held his hands up. "C-Calm down, I'm not gonna hurt you."
The girl stopped baring her teeth and stared at him. Just then, something brown around her waist moved, and then unwrapped itself, revealing that the brown thing was a monkey tail. As the boy saw this, his eyes went wide.
??? - Mind: Wait... a tail? N-No way, could she be like me...?
The girl saw the expression on his face, and began to look a little confused as well.
???: "L-Look... I'm Rimitto Bureiku. I'm not gonna hurt you, in fact me and you are the same..." The girl went wide eyed, but then quickly regained her composure, still crouching.
???: "How do I know you aren't lying...?" She questioned. "Where is your tail...?" The boy- now known as Rimitto -was a bit caught of guard when she had spoken. He hadn't have thought she knew how to speak, then again... she could clearly understand him.
Rimitto: "When I was younger, my teacher cut off my tail after I went on a rampage one night... said I transformed into some beast..." The girl seemed to have known what he was talking about, so she became less tense. However, she kept her stance.
???: "What planet am I on?"
Rimitto: "You're on a planet called Earth. I'm guessing you aren't from around here...?" Rimitto put his hands behind his head and shifted his weight.
???: "No... I'm from a place called Planet Vege-" She suddenly stopped talking, as her words seemed to get caught in her throat. She suddenly began to tear up, and she slowly sunk to her knees.
Rimitto: "Woah hey... dunno why you're getting upset, but..." He walked over to her until he was right in front of her. She wasn't paying attention. He sighed, and put his hand out towards her.
Rimitto: "I know things might not be the best for you at the moment, but... let me be the first to welcome you to Earth!" The girl looked up at his hand, and Rimitto smiled down at her.
???: "Th-Thank you..." She used the back of her hand to wipe her eyes, and she used her free hand to grab onto his. "I'm Nai, by the way... Nice to meet you."
Rimitto: "Nai, huh?" He smiled, and then pulled her up to her feet. "Well then, Nai, why don't I take you over to my Teacher's place? He always has food ready, and I bet you must be hungry!"
Nai nodded, and let go of his hand. Rimitto nodded back, and jogged into the forest, calling after her. After a moment, she jogged after him into the woods.
