"At once, Your Highness," the woman said. Her voice almost resounding in Lydia's body with its depth and strength.
"Thank you." Lydia let her hands fall to the sides of her waist as she fixed her posture and looked up at her.
'No wonder the eagle looked smaller when it was perched on her shoulder. She's huge.'
"I apologize, Your Highness," the woman said. Her eyes briefly darted to Lydia's arm as she made a small bow.
'What should I say to her?' Lydia thought as she eyed the woman in front of her. 'She's apologizing to me. Her voice sounds neutral and her bow was minimal it almost seems like a nod. She didn't clearly state what's her mistake either. Besides when our eyes met earlier… I felt like I was being scrutinized. It's weird.'
"Raise your head," Lydia said as she took a small step forward.
As soon as their eyes met again, the gnawing feeling of unease that arose within her earlier resurfaced.
