She flushed. “Does she?” She was not sure what Victor had said about the relationship.
“She keeps telling Victor and Vice to bring you to a family lunch.”
“There are family lunches?” She was surprised. Vice and Victor had not been to one during the time she had been staying with them.
“We try for weekly, but it is rare that everyone gets there,” he replied easily. “Work, you know.”
“Oh. I have never been to a family lunch.”
“Never?” He was shocked. “Well, you will like it. There is good food, good people, plenty of booze. My mother and Nicola will, of course, ask all the questions about your family, your plans for the future, when they can expect grandchildren, and so on.”
“Who is Nicola?”
He slid her a look. “Vice’s mother. They haven’t told you much about the family?”
Shit. “No,” she replied cautiously. “Except that they work with a lot of them.” What had Vice and Victor said about her, and their relationship? Did they know?
