　　She called Megan. Practical and blunt Megan would agree with what she had done, she thought.

　　“Hey,” her sister said. “I was wondering when you would call me. It has been weeks.”

　　“Oh, bullshit. We spoke yesterday,” Emily chuckled without feeling it. The tears still threatened.

　　“That is weeks in the music world, isn’t it?” Megan was distracted, her attention only half on the conversation. Emily could hear music and voices in the background. Her sister was shopping again, she decided, which was why she only had half of her attention. No doubt there was a sale on, and Megan was in the thick of it.

　　Emily laughed out a breath. The press of tears eased. “Fine. I got very busy in all the hours in between, sorry.”

　　“So, I see, from the magazines and photos online that mum pulled up this morning when I went there for coffee. Mum wants to know if you have had your boobs done.”
