William Cole jolted awake, seeing the ceiling of his own room as he opened his eyes.

Minnie Wright's voice came from beside him, "Ruth Dawn has been taken home by her family. Both of you were severely exhausted and passed out from hypothermia."

"You've been recuperating these past few days, you should be fine now."

William rubbed his head as he asked, "How long was I unconscious?"

"Not long, precisely five days."

"Five days, that's a long time..." William still felt dizzy. Minnie handed him a glass of water, "This is glucose water, drink some."

"You haven't eaten in five days, they've been keeping you alive with IV fluids."

"Drink some glucose first, then I'll have Michele bring over the ready-made chicken broth."

Minnie grabbed William's hand, looking worried, "Don't ever push yourself like this again. I've got a grip on what happened."

"After saving Eloise Torres, Ruth fell into a sinkhole, and you jumped in after her. Why would you do something so silly?"
