Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Not normal
Detective Xinjiang wu, scholarship student, completed his Doctorate on Criminal psychology from UK, get his PhD on forensic psychology, everything was happened in online, done several kinds of forensic psychology practices and projects.
Showed his provenance in criminology cases but never could have practiced on his studies and talents in the practical field of criminals.
After having a great results on his academic studies, when his grades turning into just a piece of paper then he decided to work for a local police in private. At that moment, they were thinking about establishing their new private sector for the investigation that would be hidden from the local people.
Wu was fortunate to came around to meet with his friends in police departments who were surprisingly offered the post. Then he became one of their own private detective.
He had no idea if he is the one an only or there is more like him but he is surprised by their choices and a recruitment of his piece of papers. Atleast, his papers are not just a piece to keep in the closet, they are now going to serve him to get food in his plates, provide him shelter to spend the night, insurance policies, pensions at the end of his age and an office to share his intellectual thoughts on other's misconceptions and misconduct.
It's been 7 months almost he was recruited for the position still no signs of any case only usual thefts and thugs, nothing to investigate about that much.
The police officer's knows every hideouts of them, dungeon to river banks. There is nothing to worry about. Whenever any thefts or hijacking cases occurred, they straight away went to smell them out from their secret corners. Most of the bad guys are illiterate that's why probably it's easy to capture them.
Probably education gives them more information than they can get now. Sometimes, it seemed blessings that our bad guys are illiterate or academic achievers might be in great dangers.
Educated and criminal, it's like a fathom in the middle of the oasis. And on the other way, educated and prevention criminal experts, plain water in the salted ocean. It will be really hard to die for, so as Wu thinks in his humorous idle time.
Wu was losing actually his grips on his experiences with criminals especially after a long pose of relaxation from his learning sessions then again waiting for a case, it seeming ridiculous to him.
Whence his friend Eiichi Hirai came to take him out for lunch, he thought he might be interested to discuss a closed case or something new.
He got disappointed of course by his peaceful life. Indeed it's the truth behind the curtain that peaceful life for the policemen or any investigator means low payment without any work because there is nothing to achieve.
Like as such, creating war in different parts of any country actually gives a job to the army, hospitals, police officers, politicians and intellectual intelligence. Without a war and without a mistake, there is no urgency of work harder to achieve, is there?
That's why, perhaps, we are not peaceful people.
Wu and Hirai, came by their bicycle, their friends gave it to them to make their friendship more stronger by saving the fuel cost of vehicles.
Both are talking mildly, taking easy paces and sometimes smiling then Hirai says, we arrived to our destination.
It's few mile away from Wu's office and police station, downtown. The day was gloomy, no heat from the sun in the middle of spring.
Everything supposed to be normal. Then why does anyone feeling unease about being good who could thought of it.
Hirai loves to eat every now and then from this food caravan. The chef and his family became very close friends with him, it was his another family as he was saying to Wu. They always park their van around the lakeside park where chairs and tables set out for the public. It's a beautiful little heaven, where Hirai loves to eat and spend time whenever he can.
When they reached to the van, they saw it's empty, no one is there in the park or in the van. They thought they came early today that's why but after waiting for 13 minutes, Wu could not wait any longer because lunch time is half an hour.
Then Wu gets curious about his friend's absent family friends. He is trying to take a pick inside the van, infront of it, it's beautifully arranged different sorts of snacks and lunches, behind it where the chef stands to serve with his family members.
Wu checked the whole van but no signs of any human or anything, it looks empty as he says to Hirai.
Hirai says, it can't be. Foods are there so as they will be.
Wu then suggested, should we eat our lunch then pay them.
Hirai feeling bad about doing so to his friends but Wu forced him to eat then took his share of lunch too.
Wu getting very anxious about their absence, he is feeling thrills for some reason. He took his lunch in his hands and looking around to see the van's chef but no signs of them. He then started to look the whole thing in inquisitive minds.
He is checking the soil if there is any blood or dragging sign, walking alongside the lake if they went for a swim and drowned for some reason.
Moreover, he is completely mystified by the fact that why there is no one around, where everyone gone to?
No, no sign, with sigh Wu admitted to Hirai. Then he asks Hirai, why no one is here?
Hirai in his apologetic voice adds up to tame Wu's eagerness to thrill, normally all came here during the evening time, in the afternoon, this place stays quite empty that's why, I came here at this time to avoid civilians, it's uncomfortable for me as a police officer to eat my lunch alone. Other's don't like to eat street foods, they like to eat from the office canteen or homemade meals.
We should pay them in person after listening to Hirai's frustrated confessions, Wu then suggested Hirai.
Let's back to our office or you wants to investigate about the missing people, Wu added to his opinion.
Hirai then sadly says, let us check the last time inside the caravan.
But it's shut off and locked in, how could we get in without breaking your friend's lock, saying Wu.
Hm, let me think, says Hirai worriedly. Okay, give me a lift here, I need your strong arms to get me into the van thence shyly smirking quietly to Wu.
Hirai is not feeling good at all about this to control his anxieties about the whole missing people, he is trying to ease the situation.
Again Hirai says, it's dark inside, I need to look closely, if everything is alright or not or we are not allowed to call ourselves cops.
Wu helps him to climb over the van from the upfront. All the foods are aligned infront there, so it's quite problematic to cross over them.
Whenever, Hirai looks up close inside the van, he starts to quiver in Wu's hands and get inside the van but Wu noticed he isn't dropping his legs inside the van, he kept it lifted and looking shocked and speechless at the same time.
Wu then asks, what's the matter is everything alright.
Hirai can not answer right away but he seemed like he is going to vomit.
Wu soon became alert something happened, he calls out their friends to come at their place at once.
He literally forced Hirai to jump back to him, he listened to him but still shaking like he saw a ghost then Hirai said what he saw inside which was unbelievable in this middle of the afternoon weekend when everyone is busy with their every day lives.
Wu's every hair of his body raised by the horrible sight.
Eiichi Hirai, is became a policeman because of his childhood fantasies. It was his ambition to become a police officer. His father was a kindergarten teacher and his mother was a housewife and Hirai is there only son.
Though they were needy family, father didn't allowed his mother to work or to have another child, from his own career frustration perhaps or to ease his worries, whatever the reasons, Hirai's father loved to keep his wife at home.
Not much of a wealthy family but they were a happy family. His father tried his best to make them happy. Hirai taught by his own father until his was high school grader then Hirai took his day shift in police department and night shift in completing his graduation. He joined himself to achieve his dream.
Because he was an police officer, government subsidies him to go through the education process at minimal cost as well as living expenses were lower than the usual and gave him a home to stay. Other expenses also carried by the government. Hirai never thought that his childhood dreams became so much valuable to him.
He was and is proud of it. Did something on his own, established himself, made himself atleast an earnest man in the normal society whereas others were staying underlined unemployed.
Everyone can't afford to make themselves available for the unknown tragedies and misfortune misconduct in the society. It needs courageous interest and heart full of bravery on that low paid job. Who knows when they have to die or make themselves available to die intentionally.
Everyone wants to live so as police officers and armies but if they saved their lives who is going to die for the civilians.
Someone needs to save them, be their rescuer, saver or a friend in need. Hirai thought as well that's why, nothing kept him behind from his dream.
Hirai met Wu during one of Wu's doctoral conferences, Wu was presenting his project work which includes police officers.
From then to now, Hirai and Wu are a good friend. Hirai understood Wu's limitations in his career though he is a brilliant scholar on a subject that has no use where crime is too little in a society he is living.
To help his friend to rescue from his death out of poverty, he added this investigation section to the police department where he is the only one. If Wu succeeds in his department then it can be widened as they all thought.
But that time will come soon, Hirai never dreamt of.
Hirai shocked to say anything about the van. Wu tried to make him as much comfortable he could to make him talk. It's his first murder homicide case that he saw with his own two eyes.
Wu understands his conditions that's why he is started to get back in his work on his own and kept Hirai aside to recover.
Their police investigation team knocked down the van's steel locked door, it was hideous, bad smell spreading from the van, dense blood clotted all over the van inside.
What can make anyone so brutal? At first, they just witnessed mass of bloods and meats all over the van. Brutally attacked all of a sudden as it seem.
As Hirai said earlier, they were small happy family, a man and pregnant wife, teen daughter, granny and a little dog.
In the van, they took a shift, no one is regular but their head of the household, I mean, father came to sell in their maximum time.
I was not even blessed to see such a lively and beautiful family. Hirai's smiling face still hovering in my mind. They made him cheerful and happy. He helped him in many ways in their business. I don't know if he was in love with that teen girl or not but his shocking experience making me worry, as Wu wa thinking about the whole incident. It seemed to him unholy and disturbing the way van is founded.
When they were searching the van if there is any dead body, they found a velvet hair band with embedded small heart and colourful flowers stone, it is pretty expensive as it seemed though it was covered with blood but still it is glowing in the dark, luminous stones probably.
It is laying in the corner of the bedroom, then I witnessed that I can't believe why I have studied on this subject, I see a fair colour young girl tied with duck taps with decades old iron bed, brutally damaged underneath, her lower lips hanging out her face, her belly is missing. Her eyes is still can't believe what she was experiencing.
Her golden blonde hair is loosened, mascara washed off with tears, pale cold smooth skin lost the beauty because of brutality. Every where just a rough touch as if someone tried to rub her with something hard.
It was her blood then that we all found at our entrance. I can't control my emotions with hatred and disgust of that murderer. What kind of psychopathic disorder it is?
I carefully started to look for all the necessary clues. If anything, anything at all that I can manage to locate that disturbing monster.
Blood is covering all the finger prints, the murderer probably wears a gloves.
Then I can't hold of myself and take the lead control of the team. I open the door that is working as a cross section to the kitchen from where they sell their foods.
The very way Hirai tried to enter and suffering from shocking state.
Then I understood what made him like that.
Her mother's eyes were covered with duck taps and her hands were duck taped at first then tied over her head with the kitchen furniture.
Her mother who was also pregnant, bare naked laying in the floor, raped, abused and assaulted that made her experiencing the abortion. Her abortions on that state bloodied the whole area.
That man is not human at all. Who knows if that teen girl was also pregnant or not then why someone took that part from her, damaged her lower body and rape her mother instead.
In case of mother, it seemed, he was more gentler than her daughter.
I was really feeling bad about the whole thing, as soon as I saw the hair band.
The van is sectioned in 5 part, it's a medium size food caravan but managed beautifully.
From the back of the van, it's a small restroom or bedroom with washroom that leads to their storage room which facilitates with freezer, trash dispenser and all the knives for cooking preparations then their main kitchen to cook and serve.
Moreover, there were only ladies who were taking the day shift whereas the man, I mean, father has no idea of what just happened to his lovely family.
He was in the hospital for receiving the ultrasonogram report of the baby.
They took the test last night, he could not manage to be with her because of his busy schedule of work. So, mother and daughter went there alone for the test.
When police informed him then he was still in the hospital waiting for the report.
His work is from the afternoon to till 9.00 o'clock at night. Yesterday, he worked all alone that's why, his wife and daughter decided to give him a day break and sent him to receive the baby's report.
Wu took the mobile number from Hirai, he recovered from his short term hysterical memories.
Wu was walking by the lakeside when he was calling the father of the victims and saw a very young girl swimming in the lake at the far distant. Her familiar figurine made him curious to see her with his small binocular from his pocket.
He saw her somewhere. Couldn't be sure, where did he seen her before? Those small features, recently somewhere.
Thence, when he saw her grey shiny dulled eyes, Wu remembered, where he saw that girl before.
She was carefully checking everywhere with her bored, uninterested eyes if anyone saw her bathing and swimming.
For some reason, may be him, she saw, made her to went out of sight from him. Swiftly enough that he could not run into her.
At the police station bench waiting, it was the day before the murder occurred, Wu thought perhaps for reporting something.
A early teenager girl with a dulled grey eyes, with straight shiny unusually dark reddish hair, beautiful skin, tanned skin tone, wore a pale orange, quarter size ordinary cotton Chinese dress without any pants, her legs were showing her flesh.
Big pimple at the tip of her small pointy nose, small tiny mole at the right side of her upper lips, small thin bright red lips.
In her average heights, she was looking unjust by nature. Thinnest figure even showing her jaw bones which were creating camouflage for the eyes of the Wu.
For some reasons, he felt certain kind of sympathy for her at that time of moment.
