Chapter 385: 385: Signs of danger

Sui mustered the last of her courage and pressed on. The arm on her back felt like a weight, a constant reminder of her obligation to move forward.

The crown prince was smiling, but Sui felt afraid of his smile. Something weird about it made Sui's heart skip a beat.

'It all…looks weirdly normal. This is just an empty offering altar. I saw this a lot in the temple when I visited it. I don't know why my instincts protested so much when I wanted to enter.'

In Sui's eyes, the chamber looked relatively ordinary now. She could not point out a single thing that was out of place.

She could tell this was a beautifully crafted place where much detail had been put in.

The carvings of stone around the altar attracted Sui's attention.

She found herself walking toward the altar, her curiosity overpowering her unease. As her hand neared the stone, the warning bells in her mind began to ring.

It was a clear signal of impending danger.
