after about a week after Enoch was 'born' Richard walked into cain's room. opening his eyes cain stood up and gave a solute "general." seeing the bored look in cain's eyes Richerd said "at ease. how are your studies going?" sitting back down and picking up a book cain said "for history studies, I have memorised all the information from the founding of the empire to the current day and have researched from the founding back to 2050. for language and other general studies, I have mastered 13 languages and from the galactic universal language to runic, I have also finished all the other related studies. for miscellanies studies, I have started alchemy and have become a rank one blacksmith and have reached pseudo rank two for most others. i have finished my studies of both mage and cultivator development from ranks one to three."
hearing that cain had basically gone from someone who knew nothing about the general universe to someone who had more knowledge than even the prodigies of top academics in just a week. miro just sighed "I still don't get why you wanted to study both mages and cultivators. even if you had the ability to go down both routes you wouldn't be able to as qi and mana restrict each other and would lead to death if one body had both inside of them."
opening his eyes cain just said, "when does school start?" sighing once more Richerd just gave cain a new book and left the room. opening the book it had a notes area and a timetable along with a map of what cain assumed to be the academy. looking at the timetable it said: class 1-A grade 1 student cain is to follow said timetable unless given a new one by a valid teacher or head of authority. looking at the first lesson he realised that he had thirty minutes to get ready, putting on his clothes which consisted of long black jeans and a black undershirt along with a blue tie and black coat which had a silver star on the collar.
walking over to Richerds office he began to wait while working on his cultivation manual with Enoch. over the last week he had read no less than 100 cultivation manuals ranging from the most basic to ones that most prodigies would struggle with, he had even begun to incorporate meditation into it so he wouldn't haft to make a different method for his mage development.
at first, he thought getting his hands on cultivation manuals and meditation methods would be hard and take a lot of time. but to his surprise, except for special family ones or self-made ones, almost all manuals and methods were free to access to the public so long as you weren't a criminal or had some other reason to be exempt from looking at them. after getting access to this huge store of information cain hadn't slept, not that he needed to as his body would function perfectly fine with or without it. with his new-found knowledge cain was almost done with his own cultivation manual/meditation method which he was calling 'primal growth'. primal growth contains both the ways that a beast would get stronger such as eating good food like strong prey or natural treasures or staying in mana-rich environments, and human ways of growing stronger such as spells and martial arts. all while being able to use both mana and qi interchangeably.
the dilemma that he was facing was as Richard had pointed out. in every one of his tests, the mana a qi would collide and detonate resulting in what would have been his death if he had been doing this outside of the white room. using the meridians that he had stored from miro, he would convert his own mana and ambient mana into qi before he would start the test.
at first, he thought it was a compatibility issue so he simulated what his own meridians would be like and tried it with those. while it did help the issue, no matter how many times he would rework the meridians so they were more and more compatible with his mana veins it only helped the problem and didn't fix it in the end.
however recently he had a breakthrough, he could use an intermediary to stop them from colliding and if that worked maybe even fuse them. Recently he had found a way to harness the energy that would radiate from his and Enoch's souls, as it was a byproduct of the soul there was no downside to using it. it only became dangerous if he overdrew from his soul, In which case it would drain his essence which he could only gain from devouring other souls. using this energy he deemed 'mental power' he could put a barer in between the qi and mana which would stop them from colliding.
yesterday he realised that he could combine his mental power with his qi or mana which would give a new energy which had the combined attributes of both while losing most of the downsides. after Learning this he began to try and find a way of fusing mana and qi with his mental power while keeping the balance which would effectively grant him a whole new form of energy that, if all went well, would have the power of all three while having none of the weaknesses.
and this morning before Richerd walked into his room the first successful fusion of mana, mental power and qi was reached, but there were two problems. one, he would only get about one-fifth of the energy he put in and if he wanted to use it for primal growth he would be better off just using both separately. and two, soon after it was formed the balance was broken and it imploded and vanished.
while he was getting ready for school Enoch had been running calculations to find the optimal ratio to keep the balance while minimising the cost at the same time. so he began to help while waiting for Richerd.
if any of you are going "how is he doing this so fast? there is no power balancing". I put the overpowered tag there for a reason.
