Lilith turned to face him, still grinning. "Enjoy your stay, sir," she said with exaggerated politeness, bowing slightly like she was addressing royalty.
Sebastian met her gaze with a blank, unimpressed stare. "Of course," he replied flatly.
Lilith didn't linger. She spun on her heel and walked away, leaving him standing at the doorway.
As her footsteps faded down the hall, Sebastian exhaled slowly. His hand rested on the door for a moment before he closed it behind him with a heavy boom that echoed faintly through the house.
He leaned his back against the door, eyes drifting to the ceiling. What the hell am I even doing?
As soon as the door shut behind Sebastian, Lilith burst into laughter, her voice echoing softly through the hallway. She leaned against the wall, covering her mouth as if that could muffle the sound. Human doll really does like attention, doesn't he?
