Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Magic.

In the past, everyone felt that anyone with magic power was cursed. These people are considered terrible and dangerous, so anyone who has magic power will be burned alive.

One day, when the world continued to spin and time did not stop running through all the moments on earth, suddenly there was an extraordinary explosion that miraculously did not leave any trace; instead, the explosion grew a tall tree like a piercing in the sky.

The tree has a large and sturdy trunk, has large branches, and is decorated with red leaves combined with dark yellow. The leaves shine and will dim as February 29 approaches.

The growth of the tree is a miracle for everyone. All of a sudden, almost everyone had magic power. Even so, there is only one village where only 15 percent of the population has magic power, even though the village is close to the explosion site. More precisely, close to the Magic Red Tree (everyone calls the tree by that name). The village was known as Floradivia Village.

The Floradivia village is located at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by two large mountains that surround each other. The village where the Magic Red Tree appeared grew a forest, which is currently called the Forbidden Forest.

As the name implies, Floradivia Village has fertile soil, so all plants grown in Floradivia will bloom, even though these plants are rare.

The Floradivia village is not a village that gave birth to so many great wizards, but for everyone, it is blessed by the gods. Why is that? It's all because Floradivia Village was chosen as the place where Desiree Gate appeared.

***

No one feels unfamiliar when they hear the word Desiree Gate. A huge gate that would select seven ordinary humans to enter inside the gate. Every four years, on February 29, when the full moon shines brighter than the previous nights and when the leaves of the Magic Red Tree begin to dim, a gate appears inside the Forbidden Forest, right near the Magic Red Tree.

For the chosen ones who have seen the gate firsthand, they will say that it is a very beautiful gate, like the gate to heaven. If asked about the details of the shape of the gate, they will not be able to answer; they will look dazed and choose not to discuss the gate again.

The seven chosen ones will be invited by the seven strongest wizards, who will have dreams the night before the gate appears. The gods appointed as representatives will come into the dreams of the wizards and then name one chosen person who will enter the gate. The next day, the wizards will give an invitation to the chosen one, and the people will enter the Forbidden Forest, where the forest cannot be entered by ordinary humans because there is an invisible high wall that prevents humans from entering the forest. However, unlike the chosen humans, they could enter the forbidden forest easily.

"Four years from now, on February 29th, I wonder, will I be the next chosen man?"

Near could only bend his shoulders when he heard the question from his friend Charlotte. The beautiful girl with fiery red hair looks enthusiastic about welcoming February 29. He always listens to Charlotte's rants about Desiree Gate. Charlotte has always hoped that one day one of the strongest wizards in the village would come to her carrying a red envelope.

Everyone knows that the invitation from the wizards is a dark red envelope with the names of the chosen humans written in gold ink. Whoever gets the envelope, it is certain that it is the next chosen human being to enter Desiree Gate.

"Do you really want to be the next chosen human being? Have you forgotten what happened to the seven people who entered the gate?" said Near, recalling an incident that made him always pray that he would never be chosen by the god to enter the gate.

Charlotte snorted at Near's remarks; of course she knew what had happened to the seven chosen ones who entered the gate four years ago. Not just four years ago. Everyone who goes inside the gate, after they get out of there, will look different. They are like absent-minded people and have no purpose in life. They just sat pensively with a blank look. If asked what really happened inside the gate, they wouldn't answer. When asked what the gate looks like, they smile, only saying that it looks like a gate to heaven. No details can be learned from the seven about Desiree Gate. However, it is undeniable that most of the inhabitants of Floradivia hope to be the next chosen man to enter the gates.

"I didn't forget; even so, there is nothing wrong with hoping, right? Besides wanting to enter the gate, I was also actually curious about what was inside the gate and what the chosen humans actually did. In fact, wizards alone can't get inside the gate!" whispered Charlotte, her eyes busy looking here and there, afraid that someone would eavesdrop on her conversation with Near.

"What do you mean? Where did you get such information?" asked Near in a whispering voice. After all, the two of them are in the library, so of course they can't speak loudly.

Charlotte moved closer to Near; she just didn't want this conversation to be heard by others given how quiet the atmosphere in the library was.

"I heard this news from Jake, who went to the Magic Tower; he overheard one of the staff there saying that wizards can't get inside the gate. The wizards said that the gate had a golden sheen and that the light would shine even more when the seven chosen people approached it. But, strangely, the gate would dim its light when the wizards approached it; even the gate could not be opened by them! But those chosen people can!" explained Charlotte passionately, but she did not forget to keep her voice down.

Near could only raise one eyebrow at the information from Charlotte. Hearing what the girl said, he became curious about what really happened inside the gate. Still, he was afraid. He prayed again silently in his heart, hoping that God would not choose him to enter the gate.

"By the way, you've heard the news, haven't you? The wizard Winter woke up from her long slumber." said Charlotte, now focused on the book she was reading.

"Yes, and I also heard that she will visit the magic tower, discussing the punishment she received from the gods," Near explained as he turned to the pages of the book he was reading.

Charlotte snorted, "I don't understand what Ms. Winter has done to the point that the god was angry with her and cursed her to fall asleep for a thousand years. But..."

Near turned his head, looking at Charlotte, who began to put on her thinking face. She was about to rub her chin a few times with sharp, swooping eyebrows.

"How could the wizard escape the curse of the god? Isn't even the strongest wizard unable to escape the curse?" Charlotte murmured, and Near chose not to respond too much; he let his friend sink into her own thinking.

"She looks like a dead man despite being cursed to sleep for a thousand years. God is like taking away her life. I'm sure that God actually cursed Ms. Winter to death," Charlotte said, and Near was still ignorant. He is more interested in reading books.

"Haah, you really like reading that tome; what is the book called? Every time we visit here, you must read an ancient book with a strong smell of paper," Charlotte said irritably, her voice so loud that she was hit by a sharp delicacy from the library keeper.

He just brushed his shoulders, and he chose to close the book so that Charlotte could know the title of the ancient book that the girl had mentioned before.

Ivonna: The Beautiful Wizard Who Can Bring the Dead to Life.

Again, Charlotte snorted, "It's all just a fairy tale; how can someone write a story about that crazy wizard with such a thick page?"

***

Ten years old, she was just lying stiffly inside her own mansion.

And when she awoke from her long sleep, she found that she had been put to sleep in a coffin. Knowing that, she almost wanted to kill anyone who put her body in the coffin, as if they assumed she would indeed never wake up again. Even so, isn't it natural for all of them to feel that way? The god cursed her to fall asleep for a thousand years. No one can take off the curse of a god. But when she found out that she had only been asleep for 10 years, she started racking her brains.

Did she release the god's curse herself?

Or was there someone who removed the god's curse from her?

But who?

Who has taken the god's curse off her?

Therefore, she decided to get out of her small mansion, get out of the Forbidden Forest, and then step towards the Floradivia Village. She could feel several pairs of eyes looking at her, even blatantly glaring at her. but she didn't care. She was used to being seen like this by all the villagers. It's all because she has a unique appearance.

Everyone knows that she is a wizard blessed by a goddess. More precisely, the Moon Goddess. The goddess liked her so much and loved her so much that she was given half the goddess's soul. She also became the number-one strongest wizard in Floradivia Village. She even entered the ranks of the five strongest magicians in the world.

She was born just as the full moon shone so brightly, at the same time as the first snowfall. When she was eight years old, the Moon Goddess came to her and gave her half of her soul. As a result, she grew faster than children her age. She was 8 years old at the time, but she had the physique of a 15-year-old.

With half the soul of the goddess given to her, she has a form that reminds everyone of the goddess. The Moon Goddess has a beautiful and motherly face. Her face impressed everyone with her soft, beaded gray eyes with a beautiful twinkle. The long gray curls seemed to shine brightly into the night. The shady look in her eyes made everyone feel comfortable when looking at the goddess's eyes.

She did get the face of the goddess; it's just that she had a face that seemed cold, and her eyes were like the look in the eyes of an angry cat. She has the goddess's beads and gray hair, but she has a colder stature than the goddess.

"Hi, Winter, who would have thought that you actually rose from the dead?" The mocking voice made Winter stop her steps and turn around, grunting when she knew that the owner of the voice was one of her annoying colleagues.

"I didn't expect it either," Winter replied, sounding quiet and calm. She stepped back on her feet, letting her colleague walk behind her.

Winter felt again that all eyes were on her when she stepped into the magic tower. A large building with a height reaching the sky; there are two small towers on the right and left sides of the big tower. The building where the magic associations are located.

Winter walked calmly through the long hallway that would connect her to the room of the president of the magic association. All eyes were on her, and now there were more and more because one of her colleagues was also walking beside her. Winter raised her eyebrows, not happy with the fact. She didn't like his companion from the beginning; it was all because she would be the center of attention every time she walked beside him or just talked to him.

"There's nothing else you want to do but follow me, Fernandes?" asked Winter as her face painted an incredible calmness. In his heart, he was engrossed in cursing the damn colleague named Fernandes.

Anyone knows Fernandes. One of the seven strongest wizards in Floradivia. Besides being one of the strongest wizards, he is also the most handsome wizard, so all women are crazy about him. Everyone will talk about how tall Fernandes' body is, his handsome face, his stern and sharp jaw, the ocean-blue eye bead, and the golden hair that looks like the sun. Yes, everyone will fall in love if they see Fernandes, except Winter, of course. She was sick of seeing that ugly face, especially when the ugly one was standing next to her like this.

"I'm just curious; why did you just come to the magic tower after waking up from your long sleep?" Fernandes replied with an annoying expression on his face.

Winter chose to ignore what Fernandes was doing. Indeed, she would rather simply ignore the presence of the damn man than serve him wholeheartedly.

"Hey, Winter, do you have a pact with the Moon Goddess or something?"

The question from Fernandes made Winter stop her footsteps. She looked at Fernandes, whose face looked serious.

'Hah? What is this?'

Winter clucked when she saw Fernandes waiting for an answer from her. But it's more fun if everyone thinks the way Fernandes thinks, right?

"Do you think?"

That was all Winter said before she finally resumed her pace, leaving Fernandes standing stiffly where he stood.

'Yes, please think that it was the Moon Goddess who saved me by covenant or something. Look, it's better.'

Winter couldn't possibly tell the truth, right?
