Chapter 22: Meeting(1)
I was was lying on the bed, with Arna lying beside me as she snuggled closer.
"mmhm Master..." she muttered as I raised an eyebrow, I smiled lightly patting her head.
"You don't have to call me that normally" I said as she looked at me then nodded.
She remained silent for a little while before she spoke up,
"Adric, can I ask you something?" she asked looking at me.
"Sure"
"Why are you helping the Shield Hero?" she asked as I smiled.
"let me ask you Arna, what kind of stories do you think people like the most?"
"...." she remained silent as I sat up.
"an underdog story, so in case who is the underdog?"
"Shield Hero" she answered,
"Exactly,"
"But wouldn't he overshadow you then"
"Arna, there is one thing that I was taught since I was a child being turned into a hunter, a Norlov can stand equal but never under someone" I replied smiling lightly as grandpa's words rang through my head,
"But then what about the royal famil..." she was starting to say but then stopped before shaking her head, "stupid question to ask?"
I grinned as I cracked my neck,
"I think we should start getting out, where do you think Kelin went?" I asked as Arna paused, before getting out the bed with a smile.
"Well, we might find a mage for ourselves and Kelin might finally get a girlfriend." she said as I felt like this was going to be fun,
As for getting a mage, I was curious about how magic worked in this world. Plus now that I think about it he looked like someone who didn't have any experience with women.
My lips curved upwards as I looked at Arna who had a similar smile.

3 rd Pov,
Inside another inn, the waiter moved fast as he could arriving at the room at the far corner just some distance away from the inn Adric was staying in, as he opened the door to be greeted by a sight of three Demi-humans, A large bear sitting on the floor with a samurai sword by his side, while a Shusaku, sitting on the window sill with a light blue bird sitting on her shoulder while the Aotatsu sat on the chair in the corner frowning.
"Sir,The Sword hero has begun to move most likely to meet back with the Shield Hero" Krokan looked at the human and nodded, before throwing a few coins at him which the later caught immediately as he bowed and left.
"So when do we move, I want to meet this Sword Hero, from what we know he is quite strong" Lopan who was sitting on the chair spoke his eyes glowing as the only female spoke up while glancing back.
"No wonder Mari, left you" she muttered which seemed to be pushing the latter's buttons as the dragonic growl escaped Lopan's throat before a cough interrupted both of them, as they immediately straightened up.
"Don't create trouble right now, last thing we want is to alert Melromac of our presence, so behave yourselves Shield Hero is too heavily guarded for us to reach him, Sword hero is the only chance we will be getting to make contact with the heroes, Siltvelt will be doing the same so keep your guards up, and you two also" Krokan spoke looking at the two spies outside the second window who immediately nodded and left.
"Lopan I get it that you are uneasy since we are in Melromac, but you need to control yourself" Krokan frowned, Lopan didn't behave like this out of nowhere.
"I..I am sorry it's just since morning this uneasiness won't go away" he spoke scratching his hair.
"Did you sense a dragon or something?" Kari, who was sitting on the window asked as Lopan shook his head.
"A dragon does not give this feeling, and if it was a dragon the whole capital would be in chaos right now." Lopan reasoned as the other two looked at each other.
"We will meet the Sword Hero after he meets with Sheild hero." Krokan spoke as the other two nodded.
"Shieldfreeden will also be looking at that time" Lopan spoke up, as Krokan sighed taking out his pipe,
"Melromac may have averted war, but they still need to be made aware what they tried to pull. Since Sword Hero is the closest to Sheild Hero, he is the one we would need to pass on the message."

Naofumi sat back as he glanced at Raftalia who was practicing her Swordsmanship, their hunting speed had increased significantly,
He had reached level 15, and Raftalia was Level 16, the number of shields he had unlocked were too many to count so he just focused on the ones with the best effect.
He recalled his plans to meet with Adric in the evening as he sighed, he could feel that Adric was planing something, but what? he didn't have any idea.
He shrugged, well as long as he could get his payback he could care less about what Adric wanted.
"Raftalia we should start going back" Naofumi spokeup as Raftalia nodded.
"Hai, Naofumi-sama"

"Did you infrom Eclair, about the slave catchers" Meriella spoke as the Shadow kneeled behind near the window.
"Yes your majesty,"
Meriella nodded, before sighing.
"Where has Melty reached?"
"Princess has just crossed into Melromac, the Shadows are keeping an eye on her but are numbers are streached thin because of the envoys presence in the capital"
"Hopefully knowing Eclair's personality she will be able to buy us time before Melty reaches their to handle the situation." Meriella rubbing her eyes, "What of the church?"
"They are still hesitant to move due to Sword Hero being a loose cannon"
"Well that's good,"
"My Queen If I may?"
"Go Ahead"
"Sword Hero, seems a lot different than the other three. while the other three weren't familiar with fighting he seemed like he had been doing this for a long time."
"We don't know about the world that he came from, it would be best to repair the damage before he reaches levels we won't have any other choice except surrender, if Faubery get their hands on him even if we have Spear and the bow heroes on our side"
