After running away from the police, the six of us hid in an abandoned building. I deliberately ditched our stolen car to make it difficult for the authorities to find us.

While the others fell asleep just on the cardboard boxes laid out, Ayre looked out the window, observing the other empty houses around us.

"Are you disappointed, Ayre? Nothing special here?" I've lined the shapeshifter general. "Well, it's still on the outskirts of town. If we continue east, you'll see those magnificent buildings I told you about."

She looked at me. "To be honest, the prison building and the vehicle we're driving are already very impressive."

I chuckled, but it was only for a second. "Too bad, I have a lot to show you all, but we must quickly perform the ritual to return to that world."

Ayre was silent for a moment. "Unfortunately, it's not that easy, my lord."
