The trip to Southbarrow Town only took him four hours. A trip that would have taken a normal person to reach in two days. It's only because there was a traveling portal in the Demon's Territory that lead right outside of the small town.
The portal has not been used for decades so he had a bit of troubles activating it. Clad in a black butler suit and top hat, Rallmul appeared in the small field with the view of Southbarrow standing a few meters ahead.
This time a bulky beastman stood guarding the entrance, but thanks the ability to hide his aura he shouldn't cause much of a panic. "Show me your merch." He demands.
This was a proper procedure to conduct in order to make sure no one was hiding anything dangerous. A lot of people tend to attack a place like this. Rallmul opened his spatial bag and gave permission for him to take a peak. He was let in moments later.
Once one steps inside, the entire environment changes and it becomes a booming and lively new place. No one would think a place like this existed in such a small town. He passed the beastman and came to another door.
Two low level orcs that manned the entrance noticed him and fell back in fear. They seemed to be at a lost for words, but this was nothing new to him. It may have been a while, but the reactions are still the same here.
As he drew closer, the orcs fearfully did a check on him. They barely did the check properly due to how afraid they were. "I..it's a p...pa...pass." One of the orcs stuttered handing over the paper he showed them.
Once he entered the town he could sense the monsters and demi-humans avoiding him at all cost. It looks like his appearance was enough to strike fear in the passerby's. He continued walking through the open space they call the town's center. He rounded the large fountain to the other side where he approached a small and narrow alley.
Pulling a mask from the spatial bag he obtained from Asai, Rallmul continued through the dark alley until he came to a single blue door with the shape of a crescent moon on its front. There were already a few others being let in as he walked up to the door.
Inside the black market there are a lot more rare goods than a normal market. Not only that there's the chance to enter the auction if one had enough money to do so. He didn't need to enter an auction today, he'll just visit a small vendor willing to buy animal parts.
He came across a stand selling different foods that he's certain he's never eaten before. Rallmul will have to get some information, if only he had the appraisal skill.
'Sir Devil, over here. I got some decent slaves here. Why don't you take a look?" A man wearing a funny colorful and bizarre suit tries to get his attention.
Slave merchants deal with all types of monsters, it builds up their courage and keeps their state of mind calm no matter the person they approach. "I don't need any slaves." Rallmul says turning in the other direction.
"Are you certain? I have many goods to sell ya. Perhaps there is something you need." The merchant says nodding over towards his tent.
He only came to get things the others had needed, but it wouldn't hurt to have a look? He didn't have to buy anything. Rallmul decided to follow the slave merchant into the tent. From the decor he would have thought he walked into a luxury mansion.
Lining the walls of the tent were display cases with all types of monsters, humans, and demihumans. It was like showcasing a feature doll, as they were dressed well, besides the collars that donned their necks. There were other customers looking at the displayed slaves with interest.
"What do you think, I take care of my products and give them the best care. Just name it, I have all types of talents." The merchant bragged with his nose pointed in the air.
To be honest the lord could summon about anyone he needed, but there was one problem. There were no one to take care of the palace, no type of servants to care for the lord besides himself. But these days, because of the new subordinates, Rallmul have been busy with things that should be left up to an accountant.
Not just that, he should also bring in people who will fight in possible wars. So, in total, he'll need to start with at least a hundred slaves. He should have it and all the other things he came to shop for.
"Are these all the slaves you have?" Rallmul asked studying the fifty slaves put up for display.
"No, these are my most expensive slaves, I have cheaper slaves underground. Come, follow me." The slave merchant lead him out the tent and around to the back were there was a hatch leading down below.
The slave merchant opened the hatch and beckoned for him to follow. Inside there was a long and narrow hallway lit by torches. They walked until they reached a wooden door, "behind here there are many slaves. Though their talents are no match for the slaves above, they are still treated properly." He was saying as he pulls a set of keys from his jacket.
The door was unlocked and then pushed open. What greeted him was a prison cell filled with all kinds of slaves from young to old. "It's different from above." Rallmul says.
"Of course, I only display the best products." The slave merchant points out.
"I will take a hundred of them from ages 14 to 25." He says.
"Does it matter what race they are?" He asked.
"No, but it matters how many from each race. I'll take twenty humans, thirty demi-human races, and fifty monster races." He says.
"Alright. I'll be sure to gather the best among them and send them to your place." The two made the transaction, it costed him four hundred gold for a hundred slaves.
"Where will I be sending them, Sir Devil?" The slave merchant asked.
"Demon's Territory, the Demon King's palace." He answered after handing over the coins.
The merchant showed shock, "looks like you're a big shot. I should show you with more respect next time we meet." He says.
"No need, I'm just the butler. I'll head out now, there's other things I need to gather, go ahead and send the slaves, someone at the palace will retrieve them." He tells the slave merchant.
"Of course, it shall be done." The merchant answered, "they'll be all clean and sent to the Demon's territory via portal. Please come again!"
Rallmul made his way back to the surface, he still had personal shopping to do. Let's get it done and head back.
