Chapter 78: Fighting The Humanoid Demons (8)

Two balls of darkness flew past the battlefield between the group of five humanoid demons and a group of one humanoid demon with his demonic beast friend.

One ball of darkness was aimed towards an incapacitated target that lay unmoving on the ground, or at least, tried to move but failed miserably, and resulted in the ball of darkness hitting it and latched itself onto the target's head.

While the other ball of darkness flew in the direction of another target, this one was still capable of fully moving its body, hence why the second ball of darkness missed its target and hit a tree trunk behind.

Seeing one of his attacks missed, Blake clicked his tongue in disappointment before scattering the ball of darkness that attached itself to a tree trunk.

It would only make his attack later become less effective if he let the marking spell attach itself to the wrong target, so he needed to cancel it.

But Blake didn't want to waste his time.

While his right hand was drawing a set of runes to cancel the mistargeted marking spell, his left hand was already drawing the runes for the darkness bullet and aimed toward the brownish demon who had finally understood how much danger Blake possessed with his capabilities of casting spells.

Initially, Blake was only dodging and running away without being able to fight back when the five humanoid demons gang up on him.

Hence why the brownish demon thought of Blake as a slippery target that he needed to catch as Blake had played around with the five humanoid demons and survived.

However, seeing the barrage of spells that came in just second intervals, even the humanoid demons that were still not as intelligent as Blake nor Vera had the ability to recognize how dangerous such an ability was.

The brownish demon was not only aware of Blake's capability but also the huge gorilla's strength that had somehow incapacitated three of its team members alone without taking any notable damage to its own body.

With those facts laid bare in front of it, as of now, the brownish demon didn't think of anything else other than trying to survive.

So when the brownish demon succeeded in dodging Blake's marking spell, it quickly turned its back and started running as fast as its body could do.

Seeing the lack of hesitation in the brown demon's decision to run away and save itself, Blake knew that he also needed to start catching up to it.

However, Blake knew that his speed would be anything but amazing, and added to the fact that he was still wearing the dark earth armor that weights his body down, he knew that he didn't have the speed that was needed to catch up to the brownish demon.

So the moment he realized what the brownish demon was trying to do, Blake quickly threw another two marking spells.

But this time, his target was none other than the two unmarked humanoid demons, the insect wing demon that was currently running towards Robus to save the long claw demon, and the long claw demon who was only one crush away from having its soul come out of its body.

And the moment he saw the two marking spells hit their targets properly, Blake opened up his mouth.

"Robus! We need to catch that running guy, I think it would have the tastiest soul of them all!" Blake blatantly revealed his motivation to the huge gorilla.

As if already accepting that certain perk of his friend that likes to eat tasty souls very much that it almost became an obsession, the huge gorilla just gave a short "rr" before putting a lot of strength into his palm that was holding the long claw demon.

With the 6 or 7 meters tall gorilla putting most of his strength into his hand and fingers, the long claw demon's skull finally couldn't hold the pressure anymore and it cracked just like an egg.

"Rr?" (How about this one?) Robus asked as he swatted the running insect wing demon down to the dirt ground.

"Just leave it to me! I need your powerful legs to catch up to that guy, I almost lost track of him!"

Hearing the urgentness in Blake's voice and also seeing that the brownish demon was already about three jumps away from him, Robus quickly left the dead long claw demon, the incapacitated skeletal wing demon, and the swatted insect wing demon before he started jumping towards the brownish demon's location.

After making sure that the 4 humanoid demons already had his marking spell attached to their bodies and Robus had gone away from the vicinity, Blake quickly started drawing another set of runes.

The runes he was drawing led to a dangerous spell that even Vera was wary about, but Blake just drew it in haste as if the spell was only a simple party trick spell that only spurt water out of his sleeves.

And right after Blake finished drawing all the runes and seeing the runes flash and disappeared, Blake quickly turned his body and also started running.

"Wait for me, Robus!"

As Blake left the area where the 4 humanoid demons were currently in, only one of them was somehow still able to move its body properly.

One had its sternum completely broken, one had its body strapped tightly onto the ground, and the other one was confirmed to be dead when its skull was crushed, evident from the dark orb that floated above its unmoving body.

Only three humanoid demons were somehow alive, and only one could be considered healthy.

But that situation would very soon change.

The four humanoid demons had ignored the mass of darkness that had attached itself to their bodies, thinking that it was only a weak negligible attack.

And they would also think that was still the case after what was about to happen to them.

After the runes that Blake drew before he started chasing after Robus and the brownish demon flashed and disappeared, a massive amount of nether, incomparable to the ones that had been cast so far started gathering in the area where the 3 living humanoid demons were still holding onto their lives.

The amount of nether that gathered was so abundant that even the physical type humanoid demons could feel something in their surroundings.

And as for the greenish demon who was a mage and knew the nether very well, it was literally a nightmare for it as it had never felt that much nether gathering in one place.

The greenish demon tried to violently break away from the darkness tendrils that kept it inside the dead-zone that overflowed with nether, but each of its movements only made the darkness tendrils latch themselves harder onto its body.

Fortunately for the greenish demon, the marking spell was latched onto its head.

The moment the myriad of darkness tendrils spell started manifesting, multiple pricks on its head were all that the greenish could feel before its world turned dark and it finally stopped its pointless struggles.

And the same thing goes for the 3 other humanoid demons in the place, including the dead long claw demon.

Tens, dozens, hundreds of darkness tendrils each appeared from the ground and started stabbing themselves directly towards the place where Blake had latched his marking spell on.

And soon, all four humanoid demons had all become unmoving, with hundreds of holes found on their bodies, and their soul orbs floating directly above their bodies.
