Chapter 2: A Notebook Of Death?
Yamashi knelt down and picked up the book. Still a little shocked from this whole occurrence he read the name on the cover. "Death Note? What a curious find."
He then proceeded to put the notebook of death into his backpack and continue his walk... but that's when he heard it... a deep and raspy voice...
"Hey kid, are you as bored as I am?"
Yamashi quickly spun around to come face to face, within inches of a tall disfigured demon staring him right in the face. This tall demon stood at around 8 foot, had pale white skin, bulging yellow eyes with red pupils, and abnormally long limbs. In every way, this creature was completely terrifying.
Yamashi quickly let out a gasp and jumped back in surprise... but not terror. Why? Well because if the creature wanted to harm yamashi it would have already happened. All creatures having meaning to their actions so...
As the thunder began to crackle and rain began to pour he answered this strange monsters question with a simple "yes".

The two figures stood in absolute silence for a minute until the Yamashi broke the silence "Follow me but stay hidden. We can talk once we're out of sight. It would be bad if someone saw me talking to you."
"Don't worry about that young Yagami, for the only one alive who can see me is you" the monster leaned in as he said this.
Yamashi replied quickly as to get this creepy thing away from his face "Ok, then let's hurry out of the rain."
The two continued the journey to the Yagami household where they would talk. Yamashi taking the lead and the demon hovering behind him.
"Are we almost their yet?" the demon asked with an impatient tone.
"Right here" yamashi walked up to a large two-story family house then proceeded to open up a light.
"what are you doing?"
"We keep our keys in this broken lantern" he replied while pulling out a pair of keys and dangling them.
Right as he was about to unlock the door the door opened up to the familiar face of his sister.
"Yamashi! You're finally home. Are you ok? Did anything happen?" Yamashis sister always bombarded him with questions the moment he was even the slightest bit late.
"Settle down Erity, it's ok. I just got caught up in this rain." He gently pushed aside his sister and walked in.
"Mum, I'm home! I'm going to my room to do some study, but I'll be down for dinner!"
"Ok son"
...
*Click* the sound of his bedroom door being locked was the only sound apart from the rain outside and the occasional boom of thunder.
Yamashi jumped backwards onto his bed and yawned... "So... who are you, what are you, and why are you here?"
"I'm Ryuk, a Shinigami and... I want a new Kira..."
