"It was shielded with Devils magic. If you show your father this book he could probably sense It." he sighed.
She gazed at him with her eyes narrowed. 'What is this guy talking about? Is he lying?' she thought, gazing at into his dark eyes. "How is that possible?" she inquired with a sceptical look.
"I suspect one of your ancestors might be a devil," Imposter Zhong said.
She shook her head at this. "Maybe a devil placed it there as a bait,"
"It's not possible; it was locked with ancient Devil magic. That magic spell went extinct almost thousand years ago," he whispered.
With squinted eyes, she gazed at him. "Then how do you know how to unlock it?"
He had a smug look at her question. "Hump, it was just a thousand year old spell. How can that stop this mighty Devil?"
She peered at the narcissistic guy with a wooden look. 'Is this guy serious? It's not the time to boast about himself?' she held her chin and analysed what he said just now, 'if a thousand year spell could not stop him then....'
"How old are you!!" she exclaimed.
He snickered and shook his head. "You don't need to know about it, silly human."
She held his shoulders and whispered, "Heyyy come on, aren't we buddies? Can't you tell me this small secret?"
"No i....I Can't..." he whispered with his face slightly red. He shook her hands away and whispered, "Don't touch me,"
Ambai noticed his red face. 'Eh, is he embarrassed? How is he so cute?' she thought with a smirk.
She hugged his broad shoulder and whispered, "Heyy buddy come on tell me.. Tell me ah,"
He shrugged out of her hug. "Where is your dignity!!" he shouted and literally ran out of the room.
"Oh my, even his ears were red. Is he a kid? I bet he hasn't seen a handsome woman like me."
As soon as she uttered this, she realised the stupidity of her words.
She slapped her forehead and whispered, "Why do I keep forgetting that I'm a guy? No wonder he ran out like that. He probably thinks I'm trying to seduce him."
She walked up to the huge mirror next to the wardrobe.
Her small figure gleamed in the sunshine.
She touched her small oval face. "Skin without even a pore in sight."
She tussled her blond curls and whispered, "Hair shining like flexible gold. And eyes like that of a shimmering jade. Tsk, no wonder he was so flustered."
She looked more like a girl than a man. Sometimes she even doubted whether this body was a woman.
She pulled out her pants and gazed inside. "Nope definitely a man."
She walked back to her bed and threw herself onto it.
"Oww," A sharp thing bit into her spine.
It was the small green books he had tossed onto the bed.
She picked it up and gazed at the spine of it. The green griffin etched on it looked almost real, like it was going to rush out of it.
She softly caressed its contours and whispered, "Such splendid craftsmanship,"
The griffin's teeth stood out the most. Ambai caressed it softly, but suddenly she felt a biting pain on the tip of her finger.
"Ow," she removed her finger to find a small cut on it.
"Mommy, are you hurt?" Fynn chirped from her bed-side table.
"No, it's just a paper cut," she comforted her panicky little mount and licked her cut. "This thing is sharper than I expected,"
The little chipmunk crawled over her and latched onto the hard binding of the book. He touched the little griffins mouth and shouted, 'Ow, mommy it really is sharp,'
"Hey, why did you touch it?" Ambai exclaimed.
"I was curious," he whispered.
She picked him and placed him onto the fluffy pillow. "don't touch it okay,"
She tossed the book onto the table and rolled over in her bed. A soft tail caressed her face.
"Hehe, you are so soft," she exclaimed, hugging the little chipmunk to her face.
"mommy <3,"
She gazed at her curtained canopy bed. Her little mount snuggled into her neck. "Aww, my cutie, recharge mommy with your cuteness. 'sigh' today was so tiresome,"
"Yes mommy, running through the corridors was so tiresome. And those guards were so scary. They touched my back!" he mentally said and rolled around on the pillow.
"Aww, my baby did so good." She caressed his belly. "At least we now know what those numbers mean. But.... what can we do to stop the imminent doom," she whispered with a sigh.
She really wanted to tell her father about the story book... but... but Zhong's identity might be exposed.
She popped her head onto the pillow and whispered, "Eh, I'm not responsible for his secret. Maybe I should snitch on him."
Flynn rolled over and whispered, "But mommy he helped you out a lot,"
Sighing she pouted, gazing at the ceiling. "Hmm. He cursed me so that I can't even tell out loud to anyone that he is the devil. I'm bitter okay,"
Her thoughts went wild, imagining the worse.
Fynn hugged her nose and chirped. "Mommy, he did not hurt you right."
"He tried to, and he failed. What if this is his ploy to win my trust? What if he is a spy too?" she whispered.
Fynn licked her nose and whispered, "I think you are being paranoid mommy,"
"No! I don't know what's the truth anymore. When I solve one think, another thing pops up ah." She buried her head into the pillow and shouted, "It's so frustrating,"
