She awoke in a puddle of sweat. Her head throbbing and her skin was sticky.
She looked around. Why was she here? She...She didn't remember.
"Clara, are you alright?" It was the blue-haired guy. He was standing above her, watching her move her eyes in a frantic mess of confusion.
"W-where am I?" She asked, her throat dry.
"You're in the infirmary." Sitting up, she pushed her head into her hands, being over and laying in an awkward position, "Do you...Remember me?"
"Who..." She looked up, her puffy eyes gazing up at him, "You...? Do I know you?"
"So...You..." He muttered, and Clara glared at him.
"I don't remember you being here...When did you come here?"
"Oh, I came in a few days ago. You didn't see me?" He asked, his face tilting.
A few days ago? Where was she a few days ago?
Was she at infirmary? Or...Was she at...
She didn't know. The days seemed to be mixing and she couldn't remember what she was even doing anymore.
She gazed at the blue-haired man. Her eyes squint in suspicion. He could be lying. Yes, he could be lying about everything.
But why would he lie to her?
"Do you remember what happened?" The man asked, his handsome face pushing towards her.
"What happened?" She asked, trying to avert her gaze and push him away, "I...I don't remember..."
"Oh..." He sighed, "So, do you remember Cyrus?"
"Cyrus..." She thought. It felt familiar. It felt like she knew him. But...
"I don't."
---
Something was going on.
She was alert. It seemed like someone was watching her, but every time she looked up, the feeling dissipated.
Someone was watching her. She knew it. But they didn't hold any ill intent as they watched her work on the approved expedition pages.
"Who's there?" She asked, but no one responded. She tapped her foot uncontrollably as she glanced up again. No one. She shot up and sped out of the room, but the presence was still around her. It followed her around the building as she tried to run.
"Clara-"
"Shit, he's running fast."
"Did someone get killed?"
She ran and ran, but no matter how fast she ran, the thing was still on her back. Still breathing down her neck.
She felt fear for the first time. First time in a while.
'What is this thing?' She frowned.
*BAM*
She slammed the door behind her, her eyes gazing around the lunchroom.
'...' It was a blonde-haired man, who was sleeping on the job. Clara's eyes twitched as she walked over to the kid, '...'
She stood above the person, watching as he slept soundly.
The presence was gone now, and she didn't feel the need, or want, to get out of the room. So she sat there, waiting for the kid.
'...' She turned on her heels, moving her body towards the vending machine.
Everything was happening too fast, so I felt like I needed to rewrite everything.
