Chapter 93: Chapter 93 (edited)

Kara was very cunning as she confronted Joker. He appeared cooperative, even joyful in explaining Harvey and Rachel's locations, but withheld one crucial detail: Gordon's family was also in danger.

Joker thrived on chaos, playing with nerves, pushing people to the brink, and aiming to plunge everyone into madness like himself. He wasn't afraid of harm; on the contrary, he wanted Bruce to kill him, achieving his ultimate goal of dragging him into the abyss.

But Kara's existence was an anomaly he hadn't accounted for. He thought he understood her, but he couldn't have been more wrong.

Unlike the others, Kara didn't ask Joker about Gordon's family. It seemed ruthless, as if she had abandoned them, but her actions suggested otherwise. Outside the police station, she and Bruce parted ways. Bruce rushed to where Harvey was supposed to be, while Kara took responsibility for the rest, including Rachel.

Joker's twisted arrangements were meant to cause maximum distress, and separating their efforts was part of his plan.

Kara maneuvered into a nearby alley and stopped. She sighed softly. "Looks like it's going to be like this," she muttered under her breath. Joker, Bruce, Jennifer, Dani—none of them knew the truth about her. Kara wasn't from Earth. Her Kryptonian origins were her best-kept secret, known only to her family.

Joker could never have anticipated this.

Stepping off her motorcycle, Kara stretched her shoulders and leaped into the sky, propelled by a burst of power. She had intended to keep her abilities concealed, but the situation demanded urgency.

Flying above Gotham, Kara scanned the city using her Super Vision, focusing first on Rachel's supposed location. She was startled to find Harvey there instead. Joker had swapped their positions, adding another layer of manipulation to his scheme.

Kara's teeth clenched in frustration. She spotted Harvey tied to a chair surrounded by barrels of gasoline, a countdown bomb ticking down with just five minutes left. But rather than panic, she turned her focus elsewhere, scanning for signs of Gordon's family. Despite never having seen them, she quickly located three distinct locations mirroring Harvey's predicament. In one hut was a middle-aged woman, in another a teenage girl, and in the last an eleven-year-old boy.

Kara acted without hesitation. Within moments, she arrived at the first location and freed Mrs. Gordon. Without stopping to explain, she carried her across the city to her daughter's location and freed Barbara as well. Finally, she rescued James Jr., bringing the entire family back together.

Before they could process what had happened, Kara left them safely outside their home, instructing them to call Gordon in five minutes to ensure Joker wouldn't intercept the news prematurely.

Kara's speed was unmatched. In less than a minute, she had flown across Gotham and completed all three rescues. Even those she saved couldn't comprehend the sheer velocity of her actions.

Next, she turned her attention to Harvey. He was on the phone with Rachel when she entered. Joker had kindly left walkie-talkies for them, allowing them to communicate.

When Harvey saw Kara, his expression shifted from relief to panic. "Why are you here? Damn it, go save Rachel!"

"Relax," Kara replied calmly, untying him. "The other guy is already on it." She led him out of the building as he continued to call Rachel, ensuring she was safe.

The hoarse voice of Bruce answered through the walkie-talkie, confirming Rachel's rescue. Kara smirked slightly at Bruce's tone, amused at how late he was compared to her.

By the time Harvey and Rachel reunited outside the police station, they clung to each other tightly, their relief palpable. Rachel, overwhelmed with emotion, confessed her willingness to marry Harvey on the spot. The two embraced, solidifying their bond.

Kara turned to Bruce, shaking her head playfully. "Be strong," she teased, patting his shoulder. Despite the situation, Bruce managed to keep his composure. He'd been prepared for Rachel's earlier rejection, but Kara couldn't resist poking fun at his misfortune.

Finally, Kara approached Gordon. "So? Heard from your family yet?" she asked.

Gordon nodded, gratitude written all over his face. "Yes, thank you. If anything had happened to them..." His voice trailed off before he added, "How did you even do it? You 'flew' across Gotham in under a minute."

Kara hesitated, searching for an excuse, but before she could answer, an explosion rocked the police station behind them. The blast sent shockwaves through the air, cutting the conversation short as they all turned toward the smoldering building.
