Chapter 76: Chapter 75

Because of Jennifer's injury and the attack, Kara had been suppressing her nearly unbearable anger and urge to kill. She masked it well, not wanting Jennifer to notice. But with Bruce gone and Jennifer now asleep, she had nothing holding her back.

Kara flew silently over Gotham City, using her Super Vision and Super Hearing to search for the Joker. She didn't personally know the Joker, nor had she ever faced him before, but his notorious voice had been all over the news. After attacking Jennifer, he had also targeted others, sending videos of his crimes to the media. It wasn't hard for Kara to track him down by honing in on his distinctive voice.

Still, Kara hadn't completely lost control. Before heading directly to the Joker, she flew to the Batcave. Entering discreetly from a hidden entrance behind the waterfall, she retrieved her own combat gear. She donned her sleek, silver-gray battle suit and, with it, crossed half of Gotham in a matter of moments, heading straight for the Joker's hideout.

His base was located in a decrepit, abandoned amusement park, the perfect twisted lair for the clown prince of crime. Inside one of the rundown structures, Kara floated just above the ground, her movements silent as the night.

The darkness didn't hinder her at all—thanks to her enhanced vision, it was as clear as day. She could see the dozen or so men, all heavily armed, scattered in the shadows and aiming their weapons at her. And there he was, the Joker himself, standing at the center, clad in his trademark purple suit, his grotesque face covered in thick white makeup, with dark, hollow eyes and the horrific scars around his bright red lips forming a chilling grin.

This was the man responsible for so much chaos in Gotham—and for hurting Jennifer.

The Joker, historically a figure of jest and entertainment, had long since morphed into something far more sinister. He had become Gotham's most dangerous criminal, a symbol of terror and destruction. His recent attacks had targeted not only Jennifer but also the Commissioner of Gotham, Gordon's superior, in an effort to send the entire city into disarray.

Kara had come here to end him—for no other reason than the fact that Joker had hurt someone he never should have.

"Oh, oh, oh! Look who it is! The famed Oracle Man! She found us, ha-ha-ha-ha!" Joker's high-pitched laugh filled the air as he noticed Kara's arrival.

"Let's give her a proper welcome!" he bellowed, and suddenly the facility erupted in gunfire.

A storm of bullets rushed toward Kara from every direction, but she stood her ground, completely unfazed. The barrage of bullets was nothing to her. They ricocheted off her battle suit harmlessly, shattering into dust. After a few moments, the shooting ceased, and an eerie silence took over the room.

Kara brushed off the remnants of the bullets and, with her voice altered by a modulator in her suit, spoke in a cold tone, "Are you done? Now it's my turn."

Without another word, Kara moved at superhuman speed.

Unlike Bruce, Kara had no reservations about using her Kryptonian strength. In the blink of an eye, she became a blur of silver-gray, darting across the room to her first target. With little effort, she grabbed him by the neck, and with one hand on his shoulder and the other around his throat, she twisted sharply, decapitating him in an instant.

The second thug barely had time to react before Kara's fist pierced through his chest, shattering his ribs and puncturing his heart.

Kara continued with brutal efficiency—her next opponent received a deadly blow that crushed his skull, while the fourth and fifth men fell in rapid succession, their screams dying out almost as quickly as they began. The dark room was filled with fleeting yells of terror, silenced as soon as they started.

One by one, the Joker's henchmen were eliminated, and those still standing were left shaking in terror, sweat pouring down their faces. They had no chance against a foe like Kara.

Even the Joker himself, despite his madness, couldn't track Kara's movements. His crazed eyes darted around the room, but all he could see was a blur of silver-gray slicing through the shadows. His men fell like flies, and yet Joker simply chuckled, plugging his ears in annoyance at the noise of their dying screams.

Joker was no stranger to death. He was a genius of madness, utterly indifferent to human life—whether it be the lives of others or even his own. His sick obsession with chaos had often driven him to dance with death, dragging Gotham's Dark Knight along with him every step of the way.

But tonight, Joker had made the mistake of targeting someone else. Someone who didn't share Batman's strict moral code.

When the last of his men had fallen, Kara wasted no time. She sped directly toward the Joker, her hand clenched into a tight fist, ready to end his reign of terror once and for all.

However, just as she was about to deliver the killing blow, the Joker's maniacal voice echoed through the room.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Unless, of course, you want something to happen to Jennifer... and the baby she's carrying."

Kara froze, her fist stopping mere inches from the Joker's chest.

How did he know about Jennifer? And how did he know about the baby?

"Why do you think the judge found the bomb so easily? Why wasn't Jennifer killed? Why wasn't the baby harmed?" Joker's grin widened as he saw the confusion on Kara's face. "Guess who made that happen, Kara Kent?"

"How do you know who I am?" Kara demanded, her voice sharp with anger and fear.

Joker's smile grew even more wicked. "Bruce Wayne told me."
