Chapter 2: Chapter 2

With Krypton's advanced technology, the two spaceships quickly reached Earth's outer atmosphere after entering the solar system.

Let's not dwell too much on Kara for now. Even Kal-El, the newborn baby Superman, would have starved if he hadn't reached Earth in time. Given this, the two siblings' spaceships—one following the other—made it to Earth's atmosphere in about a day.

In the original timeline, Kara's spaceship would have suffered an accident and been trapped in the Phantom Zone for decades. By the time she arrived on Earth, Superman was already in his thirties or forties.

However, this time, the accident was just an unexpected event. It wasn't a catastrophic malfunction, but a significant deviation. Though Kara had been gravely injured, her ship wasn't damaged, and she ended up following Kal-El's ship instead of being stranded. As a result, both ships entered Earth's atmosphere one after the other, rather than Kara's remaining trapped for decades.

At this point in history, Earth's technology was not advanced enough to detect the arrival of the Kryptonian ships. Even thirty years prior, the technology of the 1990s wouldn't have been capable of identifying the spaceships' entry into the atmosphere.

Thus, Kara and Kal-El's spaceships, unchallenged by Earth's defenses, descended directly toward a remote farm, blazing through the sky in fiery streaks.

The siblings' luck was remarkable. Despite it being daylight, and their fiery descent visible in the sky, the farm they approached was secluded, with only one nearby house. Their explosive landing didn't attract much attention.

"Boom! Boom!"

The two spaceships crashed into the cornfield with deafening force.

Luckily, the spacecraft were small, personal vessels. Had the siblings arrived in a larger ship—or even a battleship—the entire farm might have been wiped out.

The farm's owners, a man and a woman, soon came running after hearing the noise. They stared at the scene in disbelief: two craters formed by the impact of alien ships.

"Should we call the police?" the woman asked her husband, Jonathan, her voice quivering with fear.

In the face of such an unexpected event, most people would be terrified.

Just then, as if sensing their arrival, the hatches of both spaceships opened simultaneously, revealing two figures—one child and one infant.

Kara, still dazed from the shock of the landing, finally regained full consciousness. Instinctively, she touched her head, recalling how she'd been badly injured before blacking out.

But now, her wound had completely healed, which left Kara puzzled. Had it all been a hallucination?

"Wait, wait..."

A baby's cry rang out nearby. Kal-El had also awakened, though Kara hadn't noticed him earlier in her groggy state.

Now fully alert, she rushed over to the smaller ship and picked up her baby cousin. Kal-El, who had been sent away from Krypton moments after birth, had no memory of his parents.

Kara sighed softly. Was she really Kal-El's guardian now?

Meanwhile, the couple—Jonathan and his wife, Martha—mustered the courage to approach. Jonathan, cautiously, asked, "Where are you two from?"

Though Kara's soul was from another world, her mind now possessed the memories and language of Krypton. Surprisingly, she found that she understood Jonathan's English perfectly. What's more, she felt as if she'd instantly mastered the language.

This phenomenon was a result of her super learning ability, a byproduct of her Kryptonian genetics. Kara, though not the first naturally born Kryptonian in over 100,000 years, was genetically near-perfect. Her DNA carried the traits of a warrior, general, leader, and scientist, all of which heightened her mental and physical prowess.

In many depictions, Supergirl often outshines Superman. Kara had defeated villains like Darkseid, whom even Superman struggled to handle. She had fought Doomsday, a foe who had once killed Superman, with more ease. On several occasions, Superman himself had been bested by Kara.

Although she had arrived on Earth later than Superman, her potential had always been destined to surpass his.

After hearing just one word from Jonathan, Kara quickly pieced together her thoughts and responded in near-perfect English.

"Uh... Sorry, we were just... playing nearby, and we accidentally... landed here. We'll leave now!" Kara hurriedly blurted out, attempting to concoct a reasonable excuse for the unexpected crash.

However, it was clear the story wouldn't hold up—especially with the two spaceships as evidence.

Kara remained on high alert, worried that she and Kal-El, as extraterrestrials, might be taken away for questioning or worse. She thought about escaping with Kal-El, but how could she evade being discovered?

It wasn't that Kara was bad at lying, but given the circumstances and her still-recovering state, the hastily made-up story wasn't particularly convincing.

Jonathan, however, seemed to sense her anxiety. After a pause, he offered: "I think you should stay."

Kara, holding the crying Kal-El in her arms, turned and eyed Jonathan carefully. Could she deceive him, or would she need to fight? She was, after all, from a race of warriors, and her first instinct was always to prepare for battle.

Just then, Martha spoke gently, trying to ease the tension. "That baby you're holding—he must be hungry, right? We have some milk at home. You both should stay."

Martha's kind words caught Kara off guard. She hesitated but then introduced herself, "My name is Kara... and this is my little brother, Kal-El."

Kal-El was still wailing, his face swollen from all the crying, clearly hungry and exhausted.

"Alright then, thank you for the offer," Kara finally agreed, realizing it was better to accept their help than to run.
