Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Kill Him

After Marshal Stacker left the medical room, Dr. Cery, through the glass wall, kept her eyes fixed on H'el, swallowing hard.

She tightened her lab coat around her shapely figure and tried to control her racing heart. She stepped into the temperature-controlled medical room and approached H'el.

"Stay strong, Cery. You can't engage in any deviant behavior in front of outsiders, or it will reduce your time with the research subject!"

Dr. Cery silently encouraged herself, reminding herself to maintain a professional, serious, and cold image as a medical doctor. This way, she could spend more time with the research subject.

"Don't let your lips curl up, don't look like a fanatic."

"Keep your gaze cold, as if you're looking at ordinary people; they're just chunks of flesh on the move."

"Ah~ I can't help it, how can he be so perfect!"

Dr. Cery struggled with herself, but as soon as she saw H'el's physique, her face turned infatuated, and her legs trembled as she reached out towards his chest.

She couldn't resist her deviant impulses.

How could she possibly resist!

In her mind, on the left, a bright and angelic figure said, "Stay strong, Cery. Don't do it."

On the right, a suddenly appearing evil demon, wielding a spiked club, struck the angel on the head, causing her to bleed and disappear, crying out in pain, "Cery, don't resist."

In the end, Dr. Cery couldn't resist anymore. Her slender fingertips touched H'el's shoulder.

"Ah~"

She covered her fingers that had come into contact with H'el's body with her hand, her clear eyes filled with disbelief.

Just now, when she touched this perfect physique, this body she considered god-like, a resounding "roll" echoed in her mind.

It was like when she was a child, and her mother would say, something that was forbidden by society yet full of temptation, something she couldn't resist.

She knew that this might be a message from the divine figure, telling her to back off.

But at the moment she heard that resistance, she couldn't leave.

···············

Marshal Stacker entered the well-lit conference room and raised an eyebrow.

Other than when the "Pacific Rim Joint Defense Force" was just established in Hong Kong, he had never seen all 21 member countries gathered like this.

Usually, it was a few major nations' representatives that met with him.

And now, all 21 countries, with several countries even having their presidents present, filled the entire wall with 21 screens.

After offering greetings to the United Secretary-General, Marshal Stacker expressed his curiosity about the sudden convening of this meeting. Representatives from various nations began to state their intentions.

"Marshal Stacker, the Jaeger Program has effectively prevented monster attacks on human territory and the destruction of the Earth's environment. After discussions among 21 countries, we have decided to increase funding for the 'Pacific Rim Joint Defense Force' by 50%. We hope you can intensify your efforts to completely control monster landings."

The United Secretary-General spoke first, acknowledging the achievements of the "Pacific Rim Joint Defense Force."

Other countries expressed their recognition of Marshal Stacker's leadership of the "Pacific Rim Joint Defense Force."

"Thank you for the recognition and support of all nations."

Marshal Stacker's gaze swept over the expressions of the representatives of many countries one by one, and he couldn't help but feel puzzled. A 50% increase was an enormous amount. Just say the word, and they would add it without hesitation. It must be due to something he was unaware of.

"At the same time, General Jericho of Alaska will lead the Army to garrison at Anchorage Base, and General Augustine of Texas will lead the Air Force to do the same. They will both come to Anchorage Base."

One of the national representatives stated.

Marshal Stacker raised an eyebrow. My goodness, the Army and the Air Force are both coming to Anchorage Base. Why not bring the Navy and Ford-class aircraft carriers as well? But as his mind shifted, he understood that aircraft carriers wouldn't be suitable in the Pacific Ocean, given the monsters' base being Trench near Guam. Bringing them would be a safety hazard.

However, he believed that if it weren't for the monsters, Ford-class aircraft carriers would have already arrived.

So, what happened?

"Twenty-one top-tier international biomedical teams have urgently arrived at Anchorage Base."

"Stacker, you need to relocate to Hong Kong and lead the Jaeger pilots to deal with the monster threat. We urge you to suppress monster appearances and seal off Trench."

"Stop, stop, stop! Stop!"

Marshal Stacker silenced the representatives from various countries who were chattering incessantly.

Hearing about the top-tier international biomedical teams dispatched by each country, Stacker couldn't help but think of the person in the medical room, the one who had fallen from the sky and had broken one of the legs of the dangerous Wanderer Jaeger.

Other than that, there was nothing else worthy of the simultaneous presence of 21 countries.

"I need to understand what's going on here."

"You're increasing funding, sending me to Hong Kong, and instructing me to completely seal off the Trench and suppress the monsters. Meanwhile, you're sending both the Army and the Air Force to garrison at Anchorage Base."

"I suppose you'd like to send aircraft carriers as well, right? It's just inconvenient due to the presence of the monsters."

"And there are 21 top-tier international biomedical teams from various countries."

"With so many actions, it can't be just for conducting health checkups for everyone stationed at Anchorage Base, can it?"

"Stacker..."

"Listen, you've informed 21 countries already, which means the entire world will soon know. So don't expect me to keep things confidential. The sooner I know from you, the better I can handle it. Otherwise, I won't relent, and I won't easily transfer to Hong Kong."

Stacker suspected that they sent the biomedical teams because of the person who had fallen from the sky. But there had to be other reasons behind these 21 countries' actions, and Stacker wanted to know more.

With 21 countries knowing about it, why even bother with secrecy?

Perhaps a lot could be deleted from the internet, but the rest of the world would still find out. By the time this conversation was happening, other countries on Earth might have already learned about it.

Everyone, represented on the 21 screens, fell silent. Several representatives began to communicate with the outside world, and others switched their delegates.

Finally, they reached a conclusion that Marshal Stacker should also be aware of.

"He's not human, Stacker!"

"Why do you think we suddenly increased the funding?"

"He's the person who appeared from the sky, through the wormhole."

"He's an extraterrestrial."

"He's an alien."

Several representatives from different countries voiced their speculations.

"We suspect extraterrestrial forces in space are taking an interest in us."

"This person, just like the 'Axehead' that destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge and led to the destruction of three cities, has come to investigate."

"Stacker, the additional funding is to ensure you tightly restrict the Pacific Rim monsters from harming human civilization."

"You're here to deal with the Pacific, and you need to do it as quickly as possible."

"We still have to face invaders from space. Human civilization is under invasion from both the oceans and space, and it might be on the brink of collapse."

"You can't refuse this matter."

"Stacker, drive the monsters back into the wormhole, eliminate the wormhole, or die in battle! Earth's destruction might be the only option."

"We need to deal with extraterrestrials."

Stacker now understood what the various countries were worried about.

The person in the medical room was an extraterrestrial.

After all, no human weighed 1,700 kilograms, and no human could possess a basic strength of 8,000 tons.

It all began when he suddenly appeared in the stratospheric wormhole.

Now, what relieved all the countries involved was that the wormhole in the stratosphere was a brief one, vanishing almost immediately. Otherwise, this would have caused even more panic among nations.

"He looks like a human..."

Stacker instinctively opposed. He had planned to construct a new Jaeger for this superhuman to pilot, with the intention of driving the monsters back into the wormhole and sealing it completely.

Even after learning from Dr. Cery that this human far surpassed the Jaegers in strength, he hadn't given up on the idea of enlisting the human's aid in eradicating the monsters. He still hoped that this person would wake up, communicate, and assist him.

"Stacker, you cannot look at him with a human appearance," one representative chastised sternly.

"He's an extraterrestrial, not worthy of trust."

"We need to execute him immediately!"

"But he appears human, and perhaps he can communicate."

Stacker hesitated slightly.

If that person had looked like a six-armed creature with a massive head and eyes, like some octopus Cthulhu-type alien, Stacker wouldn't have hesitated for a moment.

But this individual's appearance was identical to that of an Earthling. This strongly suggested that the conditions on his home planet were not too different from Earth's, indicating advanced civilization and the potential for communication.

This was different from the monsters at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

They weren't even humanoid.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Stacker decided to advocate for communication with the person who had fallen from the sky.

Of course, it would be closed-door communication.

"Stacker is right. Perhaps..."

"No 'perhaps.' Is he human? Is he human?"

"No one weighs 1,700 kilograms, and no one is detected to have a strength of 8,000 tons!"

"He's an extraterrestrial monster! We should kill him while he's unconscious."

"I support killing him. We can't let him wake up."

"I support waiting for him to wake up and communicate. Because if he's humanoid, obtaining information about Earth would be too simple."

"As long as extraterrestrials can casually send someone into the city, humanity has no more secrets."

"Oppose. This is putting humanity in a deadly situation. What we should do is prevent any extraterrestrial life from entering Earth."

"Oppose communication. He's an outsider, and his intentions are likely different. Nations on Earth are already vying for economic and military dominance. Do we really want to believe that an extraterrestrial from another planet has just come here for tourism?"

"... Strongly oppose communication. I'm highly suspicious that once he wakes up, he'll immediately send a message to the stars, initiating an attack on Earth."

"We can't let him wake up."

"Kill him."

"It's best to treat him as if he never set foot on Earth."

The representatives from various countries were in a heated debate.

Stacker scanned the screens, and there were 15 countries supporting the idea of killing him.
