Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Decepticons In Action

Underneath the Hoover Dam.

Zone Seven, employee break room.

Harold, dressed in shorts, revealed his perpetually well-toned physique. Water droplets rolled down his tanned skin as he stepped out of the shower. He casually grabbed a white towel and began drying his short-cropped hair. His thoughts were in turmoil.

Ever since Dr. H'el became the head of Zone Seven a week ago, Harold hadn't stopped pondering his presence.

For Harold, there was something peculiar about Dr. H'el. He couldn't sense any danger emanating from him. In fact, he was confident he could overpower the doctor, with his impressive combat skills, in a matter of seconds.

Yet, on the flip side, Harold couldn't detect any particular passion for research in Dr. H'el. Even though, on the very first day, Dr. H'el had successfully deciphered the formation of metallic cells in carbon-based lifeforms, causing the entire Advanced Research Division to go wild with excitement.

On the second day, he led the research team in reverse-engineering and deduced the absurd concept of metallic elements from the defunct Nokia 6300.

The third day was even more astonishing when they directly developed the application of metallic elements. The versatility and adjustability of these metallic elements were incredibly potent. For example, a piece the size of a fingernail, if transformed into an AK47, could be stabilized to function as a conventional firearm, with performance far surpassing that of a typical AK47, hundreds of times over. When not needed, it could shrink back to the size of a fingernail, easily carried on one's waist like a keychain.

The scientists of the Advanced Research Division had already begun exploring the multifunctional uses of metallic elements and were planning to create a miniature metallic element room that could be carried around on one's waist.

On the fourth day, he directly transformed the metallic elements' elasticity, converting them into liquid metal. The metal particles within this liquid metal could be assembled to create various CPU cores.

When Harold saw this, he started to feel a creeping sensation on his scalp. He even had the thought of putting a bullet through Dr. H'el.

Wasn't this the damn liquid metal from the Terminator? What the hell had he created?

Harold knew his thoughts were getting out of hand, but Dr. H'el's genius level and groundbreaking discoveries were beyond what he could comprehend. Despite feeling he could subdue him in five seconds, a chill ran down Harold's spine at the depth of Dr. H'el's capabilities.

Fortunately, on the following days, the fifth, sixth, and seventh, Dr. H'el was simply observing the Cube and NBE-1, without unveiling any more miraculous operations. Otherwise, Harold couldn't fathom what Dr. H'el might be capable of.

*Beep, beep, beep...*

The Apple laptop placed on the bed emitted a sound, interrupting Harold's contemplation.

Harold removed the white towel from his head and casually hung it on the back of a chair. With quick steps, he crossed the room, sat on the bed with his legs crossed, and placed the Apple laptop on his lap. He opened it, revealing an encrypted message channel.

His fingers glided across the touchpad, moving the cursor, and he clicked to open the message.

"Boss, I haven't found any information. I've thoroughly searched everything, even the highly confidential files from the Defense Minister and the President's personal hard drive. There's absolutely nothing. Is this guy some kind of secret prodigy nurtured by the nation? I can't even find his basic personal history, like what he studied, ate, or how he grew up, and there are no traces of him on the internet. It's like he dropped from the sky!"

Harold narrowed his eyes.

On the screen was his former department, the "Space-to-Earth Surface Surveillance Security Information Division," a unit with powerful cyber surveillance capabilities capable of uncovering information about almost anyone.

Even some secret military bases were within their reach.

Yet, now they couldn't find a shred of information about Dr. H'el. Was the secrecy surrounding him that intense?

"Don't bother looking for him. What's the recent activity in various countries?"

"Well, speaking of that, things have gone haywire. China, Russia, Japan, the UK, and other countries, along with renowned tech conglomerates, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Samsung, Foxconn, Dell, IBM, and even the Wall Street financial sector, all have powerful financial and technological capabilities. They are manufacturing some laser-precision nano-carving technology, carving protons on a national scale. They've carved who-knows-how-many protons and sent them into space on rockets. Are they insane? Have they all gone mad?"

Harold felt that something was incredibly unusual.

Ever since that mysterious figure appeared and the "Space-to-Earth Surface Surveillance Security Information Division" was disbanded, the entire world had become embroiled in a strange endeavor with a unified goal.

Even his own country was no exception. Most high-tech laboratories were carving protons, and it seemed like the entire world had carved countless protons and launched them into space.

Combining the protons created using this laser-precision nano-carving technology couldn't provide a clear picture of what they intended to achieve.

"Boss, I've got something interesting for you!"

The beeping sound snapped Harold out of his pondering. He looked at the screen and saw a blurry black silhouette with the faint outline of an "S" in a diamond frame on the chest.

The "S" was extremely vague and difficult to identify.

"I used over three million images of the black silhouette captured in an instant with a stop-and-reverse technique, layering them transparently. See if you can make it out! It's Superman's 'S' emblem!"

"It's Superman! A dark Superman!"

Harold looked up at the "S" emblem on the chest and tried to make out the facial features overlapping within the contours. It seemed there were facial features, but they were very unclear.

He hoped this wasn't a biological entity because that would be utterly terrifying.

It was unimaginable how a being capable of exceeding speeds of 1000 mph could exist.

Harold immediately put a stop to his subordinate, who had previously been coming to work in a Superman T-shirt, and quashed his superhero fantasies. He instructed him to pay close attention to the activities of countries around the world and closed his laptop.

Whether it was the mysterious figure or the proton carving activities of various countries, there seemed to be a connection to Dr. H'el, the newcomer to Zone 7.

Harold didn't need to do anything else; he just needed to keep a close watch on Dr. H'el, and sooner or later, he would find the cause of all these anomalies.

Moreover, he felt that a storm was brewing, sensing an unusual atmosphere.

Last night, meteorites had fallen in various places and then disappeared, with witnesses claiming that the meteorites had transformed and escaped. New transforming robots had appeared, and despite being pursued and attacked by a large team from Area 7, they had successfully captured one yellow robot and two humans associated with it.

According to reports, several alien robots were still changing into vehicles and hiding in the city.

Harold put on his green military uniform, strapped an M9 pistol to his waist, and brought along two extra magazines and several different grenades. After tidying up his uniform, he opened the door and headed to the Cube Observation Tower.

Lately, H'el had been at the observation tower, monitoring their cube(AllSpark).

As expected, Harold saw H'el's back here. He was leisurely holding a coffee cup, slowly and elegantly bringing it to his lips for a sip of coffee.

"Dr. H'el, I thought you would be observing the new yellow robot," Harold said as he approached and stood a half-step behind and to the left of H'el.

"I've already observed them," H'el replied.

Harold glanced at H'el and asked, "You still haven't fully understood this thing? What you've developed in just a few days surpasses the achievements of all researchers in the 94 years since the discovery of the Cube."

"I'm waiting for it to change," H'el said with a sip of coffee, smiling as he looked towards a corner of the AllSpark.

·········

Frenzy: A small, slender figure composed of steel rods, capable of transforming into small objects like phones, speakers, etc.

He was skilled at using his small and agile form to lurk in unnoticed corners, and he excelled at infiltrating computer systems, uploading, and stealing files.

For example, at this moment, in order to find the leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, and the whereabouts of the AllSpark, he transformed into a cell phone, sneaking into the Hoover Dam within a human's bag, and finally found the location of the Spark.

His four blue eyes looked up, and a highly familiar magnetic field attracted him upward. The AllSpark emitted an electric current and transferred energy into his body, filling him with a sense of power.

With a 'snap,' he dropped to the ground after being fully charged with energy.

He blinked his excited double eyes and notified the Decepticons through a channel wave.

"The AllSpark's location is confirmed!"

Inside the Nevada military base, Starscream, transformed into an F-22 Raptor fighter jet, received the information and projected a human figure in the cockpit. He began to contact the Decepticons.

"Starscream here, Decepticons, prepare for action."

"Roadblock on the move." The roadblock, which had been clearing the way through the city with police lights on its roof, continued toward the target location.

"On the move." The Abrams tank, shaped like Abram, was equipped with a mine-clearing plow, a secondary turret, an anti-tank missile launcher, and twin M2HB heavy machine guns. It roared as its treads moved, rolling over steel wire mesh and heading to the target location.

"Rolling out." An armored Buffalo mine clearance vehicle turned at the airbase, crossed over the fighter jets, and left the base, heading to the target location.

"Blackout joining the formation." Blackout, the one that had destroyed the U.S. military base in Qatar, transformed into an MH-53J 'Pave Low III' multi-purpose helicopter, hiding in the desert. It received the information and began stirring its rotor blades, kicking up yellow sand as it headed to the target location.

Numerous members of the Decepticons, heading to the target location, all in unison:

"Long live Megatron!"
