"How is this possible..."
Within the Green Lantern Corps, there were murmurs of disbelief.
The title of Guardians of the Universe wasn't earned through righteousness and order; it was forged in iron and blood, conquest and ruthlessness. Throughout the vast cosmos, after countless battles, they had established the Green Lantern Corps, dividing the universe into 3600 sectors with absolute power.
Each Cosmic Guardian possessed the might of cosmic overlords, standing at the pinnacle of the universe.
Every Cosmic Guardian possessed stellar-level strength, wielding immense energy akin to a sun, capable of easily creating civilizations, with their collapse potentially birthing a black hole.
They were unbeatable, nearly impossible to kill.
Now, what the Green Lantern Corps witnessed was inconceivable.
The Guardians, dragged back from the stars like a dead dog by H'el.
At this moment, the soldiers of both the Green Lantern Corps and the Divine Corps had their faith in the Cosmic Guardians and the divinities shattered.
Some soldiers wailed, unwilling to believe that their own gods had fallen into such a wretched state, no longer shining with divine purity but being dragged like dead dogs.
Especially Apollo and Artemis, charred black, nearly unrecognizable to the soldiers of the Divine Corps. Was this their gods?
"Hal, we should leave this place!"
Sinestro's face was stern as he spoke next to Hal.
The capture of the guardians proved their failure, an irredeemable defeat.
Engaging with beings of this caliber, even with the Green Lantern Corps suppressing the Kryptonian Corps, would be futile. The impact they could have was too significant.
Sinestro didn't believe the Green Lantern Corps could contend with someone whom even three gods plus two Cosmic Guardians couldn't handle.
But Hal had never witnessed the power of Cosmic Guardians and divinities. With over a million soldiers of the Divine Corps and four and a half million of the Green Lantern Corps still present, could individual power surpass the combined might of these millions of soldiers?
"Sinestro, now is the time to demonstrate our will and courage," said Hal, his features resolute, his pupils reflecting fearlessness and bravery.
He glanced at the millions of Green Lantern Corps soldiers emitting green light, illuminating the starry sky. He didn't think anyone could contend with millions of Green Lantern Corps soldiers.
Hal clenched his fist, raising his right hand with the Green Lantern ring facing up, belting out with all his might: "Comrades, concentrate your willpower on me!
Evil and traitors fear our light; the Green Lantern shines eternally, radiating throughout the ages!"
Hal's bravery and fearlessness injected a dose of courage into the bewildered soldiers witnessing the failure of the Cosmic Guardians, rallying them around their last vestige of belief.
The soldiers of the Green Lantern Corps raised their Green Lantern rings, beams of green light shooting out, all converging onto Hal's figure.
The dense green light completely enveloped him. With his fist pointed at H'el, the Green Lantern ring constructed a conical drill. Within the green light drill, carrying the hopes of numerous Green Lantern Corps soldiers, he shot towards H'el.
All eyes in the sky converged on Hal. The hopes of millions of Green Lantern Corps soldiers were concentrated in Hal's strike.
*Snap!*
H'el extended his left hand, casually swatting at the Green Lantern flying across the sky. With this gesture, he dispersed this manifestation, which had gathered the willpower of millions of Green Lantern Corps soldiers.
The green drill cracked, and in an instant, the cracks multiplied to the point where Hal couldn't sustain the manifestation, shattering like green glass.
Hal suffered a heavy blow, tumbling out of the shattered green glass-like structure. His eyes dimmed, his organs shaken to pieces, wanting to vomit out the shattered pieces inside him, his consciousness blurred, difficult to recover.
Even the hardest-willed manifestation like the drill couldn't withstand H'el, who possessed almost the entire universe's energy.
H'el opened his five fingers, and a bio field pervaded, reaching out towards Hal flying in the sky.
"Ah..."
With a grip, the bio field tightened. Green Lantern Hal screamed in space, awakening from unconsciousness for a moment, his face showing fear, blood flowing from his seven orifices, eyes bulging, limbs twisted and broken, compressed by H'el's emotionless face. With an immense force, H'el compressed Hal's entire body into a ten-centimeter sphere, utterly killing him.
Green Lantern Hal died like this, casually crushed in the starry sky.
The Green Lantern ring glowed with green light, trying to flee, but it was constrained by H'el's casually controlled biological magnetic field.
"Hmm?"
Suddenly, H'el raised his eyebrows, sensing that with Hal's death and the dispersal of his will, something invisible seemed to have been added to the entire universe.
The universe hadn't changed, but it felt like... something had returned?
Hal Jordan, is he really that special?
An existence akin to the son of destiny or something?
Hal activated his mental realm sight, strings of sight, countless lines flashing like ethereal voids in his eyes.
In his eyes, the entire universe appeared as countless fluctuating lines, so complex that even H'el's powerful brain struggled to comprehend every detail.
He could only observe relatively dense regions of space-time, skimming over various distorted areas. His mental realm sight revealed Hal Jordan's will dispersing, dissolving into particles smaller than quarks and countless wave frequencies, integrating into the universe's complex web of lines, blending in completely without any noticeable change.
H'el closed his mental realm sight and string sight, finding no strange anomalies. The universe remained peaceful.
Indeed, Hal Jordan was dead, his will dispersed.
He had some peculiar uniqueness, ultimately returning to the universe, without achieving wisdom.
H'el felt he was somewhat like the son of destiny of this universe.
Vaguely recalling, there was a saying about H'el Jordan being the embodiment of the universe's will.
But this son of destiny... seemed to have not fully matured and was killed by his hand.
The entire remaining Green Lantern Corps of 4.5 million fell silent.
The drill manifested by Green Lantern Hal, gathering the willpower of such a massive number, was casually shattered by H'el with a single swat, and Hal was directly crushed to death.
Sinestro silently retreated behind the Green Lantern Corps, wanting to open a transit channel to escape, his expression grim.
However, this starry sky had been imprisoned, making it impossible to open a transit channel.
He and the 4.5 million Green Lantern Corps soldiers had become trapped.
"Die, Kryptonian!"
In the almost silent starry sky due to the death of the Green Lantern, Wonder Woman approached H'el, tears of sorrow and rage streaming down her face as she swung her sword towards H'el.
Having lost her sisters brought from Amazon, and now witnessing the death of Hal fighting alongside her, her friends, comrades, sisters, grief and anger overwhelmed her heart every moment.
If she didn't die in this moment, her future would be akin to a living corpse.
With a sense of inevitable guilt, sorrow, and anger, she raised her sword high, striking towards H'el.
