Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Jor-El!

The crowd in the square was absolutely furious. This man, who knew about Krypton's impending destruction, had done nothing to prevent it. Instead, he had desperately tried to stop those who were attempting to save Krypton. He had spent his days requesting investigations into the planetary core from the Science Council, only to be rejected repeatedly.

Everyone knew what kind of people the high council members of Krypton were. They rigidly adhered to their senseless rules and Jor-El actually had the audacity to claim that Krypton had no hope left, asserting that only his own son were the hope for the planet.

Even if Jor-El hadn't exiled H'el into space and had worked together with General Zod to challenge the Kryptonian high council, opened the Science Academy, and investigated the planetary core, the people would have believed in his genuine efforts to save Krypton.

But what was the meaning behind his actions? If there was no hope, why stop others? All those who took action to address the core problem of Krypton had been thwarted by him!

The people in the square shouted their anger until their voices grew hoarse, especially when they saw the moment of Krypton's explosion. The erupting lava, the upheaval of continental plates, and the catastrophic destruction left them in shock and pain.

The final scene showed Brainiac-7 appearing from outer space, shrinking the entire city just in time, placing everyone into a deep sleep, and saving them from the destruction of Krypton. Without Brainiac-7's intervention from outer space, they would have perished in Krypton's explosion.

The last scene left the infuriated crowd trembling, and they reluctantly accepted the truth.

Krypton had truly been destroyed.

"So, that's... the destroyed Krypton?" someone asked, lost and bewildered, gazing at the dust cloud in the sky, which seemed so close. The reddish sunlight cast an eerie glow on the edges of the dust cloud.

The people turned their gaze to the sky, at the cloud of dust.

"That was once our home..."

Suddenly, the people in the square felt a deep sorrow, tears welling up in their eyes.

"Hahaha, Krypton's destruction is great! The high council, in their luxury and corruption, while we in the lower levels lived like dogs. You're all dead! Haha, all dead! *Sob sob sob sob*, hahaha... *sob sob sob sob sob*." A robust man laughed and cried.

The entire square erupted into a mixture of laughter and tears, with continuous curses against the high council, disdain for the putrid slum conditions, opulent luxury at the upper levels, and the lack of protection for the people. The mockery of truth and justice had brought society to such a state that it deserved destruction.

But...

No matter how bad it was...

That was still their home.

Wails and sobbing echoed incessantly across the vast square. People covered their faces and wiped their tears, unable to contain their emotions. Some of the angry ones even roared, demanding they shouldn't cry, questioning why they would still be attached to such a society. They thought destruction would be better, but they couldn't hold back their overflowing tears.

H'el's expressionless gaze swept across the crowd, his eyes moist, his emotions complex and indescribable.

The documentary had not been altered in any way. H'el hadn't made any edits or intentionally framed Jor-El unfairly. Everything presented was the unadulterated truth.

After H'el was exiled into space, his assistants who had once worked alongside him, aiming to change the fate of Krypton, had collected a vast and shocking amount of information. Combining the knowledge in H'el's mind, the records from the Crystal in Kandor City, and the information gathered by his assistants, everything was enough to make anyone understand the full scope of the situation.

"Zero, move them away and prepare for the next audience," H'el ordered.

Immediately, the people in the square, who had been mourning, felt the ground beneath their feet split into two levels. The upper level, carrying the people, slowly floated away from its original position, drifting to the side.

Sensing the movement, the crying gradually ceased, and the people stood still, dumbfounded, their thoughts struggling to recover.

H'el once again enveloped Kandor City with a bio-magnetic field, guiding the people who were still in a deep sleep to the open square in front of him.

This time, he didn't just resurrect the poor; he also included the middle class and many members of the upper council of Kandor City.

Once again, he used the AllSpark to replace their genetic information. They began to gradually return to their original forms, slowly awakening, filled with confusion as they stood up.

And once again, he played the documentary for them to watch.

In truth, the poorest of the poor living in the slums should have been the least affected by Krypton's impending destruction, as their living conditions were abysmal and they faced constant danger. However, even they couldn't help but cry when they saw their familiar homes and everything they knew being destroyed right before their eyes.

As for the slightly more affluent middle class and the powerful upper council members of Kandor City, witnessing such a scene was like a plunge into darkness, making them contemplate taking their own lives.

"Jor-El!!! You betrayed the hope in our hearts!"

"The house I spent half my life buying!"

"Everything I had—honor, money, power—it's all gone."

"Why were you so foolish, Jor-El!"

"Why stop those who were actually taking action!"

"I can't believe it, I can't believe it, this is fake! This is fake!"

"That's right, this is fake. The ground beneath my feet is Krypton, haha! Krypton is fine; my house is fine. My mistresses and factories in other cities are all fine. I'll continue to exploit the laborers as an upper-class citizen."

"I refuse to accept it, I refuse!"

"I dedicated my entire life to my career, and now everything I've achieved is destroyed."

"I curse you, Jor-El, for killing all our hopes and letting your own son escape from Krypton."

"What about my daughter? Where is my daughter? She was at the Academy. Did she escape from Krypton with Jor-El's son? Is she okay? Is she okay?"

"No, no, Krypton couldn't possibly explode."

"So, you stole the Life Codex, Jor-El!!!"

"Poor General Zod!"

"I regret not helping General Zod kill those Kryptonian elites."

"I can't accept this! Why did you let the high and mighty Kryptonian elites decide our fate?"

"We never got to decide our own future."

"Jor-El, you're Krypton's criminal, selfish and despicable."

Numerous middle-class citizens and once-honored members of the council couldn't help but curse Jor-El in anguish.

Why did you exile H'el, who wanted to save Krypton, into deep space? Did he threaten your power? All he wanted was to replace the Kryptonian elite and save Krypton. What was wrong with that?

Why did you stop General Zod? Wasn't he your lifelong friend? All he wanted was to kill these useless Kryptonian elites and save Krypton. What was wrong with that?

Why could you prevent everything but couldn't bring hope to Krypton?
