Chapter 143: Different

Dede's voice was devoid of any confidence as he softly asked, "Meka, what are you doing?"

Meka smiled and moved even closer until her chest pressed against his. She gently took his hand, which had been resting at his side. "Dede," she whispered, her eyes fixed on the hand she held, then she placed both of his hands on her slender waist.

Dede took a deep breath, his hand holding her waist firmly. Despite knowing it wasn't a good idea, he drew her in. "Meka," he breathed out heavily. "This... why?"

Meka tilted her head, a small smile curving her mouth as she raised it up to meet his face. "Because you are all I've ever wanted."

Dede gulped, his eyes fixed on hers, searching for a sign of protest but finding none. Instead, he was met with daring confidence.

"I cannot stop thinking of you," she added, whispering, "every night, every single day."
