Ahmed didn't wait for them to confirm because he suddenly dashed off. He had already killed two men and, with the weight of the information he had just heard heavy on his heart, and the fact that he hadn't seen Safiya yet, he doubted if he would be ready for any more fighting. What if there were more guards? Whatever it was, he wasn't ready, especially since he still hadn't told Safiya about this place.

As he reached outside, the harsh cold wind greeted him, the moon was beginning to fade away, and the branches started swaying. It looked like it was going to rain. Then he remembered Sheby was still waiting for him; he prayed nothing bad happens to her.
