Chapter 5: First Contact
Kurogane Shinya POV
After getting home from my quite eventful first day, I immediately went to the restaurant and started helping Kusanagi san out in the kitchen while he did all the customer service.
"Shinya! 2 portions of omurice!" Kusanagi san yelled.
"Right!"
"And bring some more Kakiage while you're at it!"
"On it."
I just hope this dinner dash will be over. It's so damn tiring everyday.
Timeskip, night
After finishing up the work today, I'm finally able to get some rest. Today has been tiring. I just hope there will be no hunt tonight.
"I got a job for you, Shinya."
There goes my rest.
"Who's it this time?"
"Hokuto Raiga. 35 years old. Owner of various black markets that sells various type of guns. It has been determined that he usually works for the Hidden Legion with his weapon distributions. Killing him will be a big blow!"
"I see. It is certainly tempting. I might be able to loot in some good guns from them."
"So? you're going?"
"Definetely. I'll suit up immediately." I said as I went to the basement to wear my usual black coat and mask. And put on some gears while at it.
"Good luck, Shinya."
"I'll be going."
Timeskip, on top of a tower.
"Target's visible. He's scanning some files on his computer. Have you finished scanning the area?" I said to Kusanagi san.
"I do. 3 guards outside and 2 guards inside. Other than that, it's pretty empty. It's a normal hotel after all."
"That's all I need."
Using Darkest Silhoutte's power, I went into the shadows and sneaked into the building easily. And actually, I don't really like to abuse my powers to do my mission but...I wanted to be quick tonight.
I quickly got out of my shadow and slashed one of the guards, then hid again. I repeated the same process until the 3 guards outside were all dead. And now, it's time for the main highlight.
knock knock
I knocked the door to his bedroom, behaving as if I am hotel staff.
"I came here to deliver your order." Thanks to Kusanagi san's observation, I found out that he's actually ordering a meal.
Suddenly, the door opened and I quickly stabbed the bodyguard's neck.
"Y-you?!"
One of the bodyguards came rushing in but I evaded his attack and quickly stab his nape.
"Argh!"
Not dead? guess one more will do.
I proceed to stab him one more time. On the same place, making my dagger went through his neck.
"Y-you?! are you Rogue?! somebody! help!" Hokuto screamed for help, but it's useless. I already soundproofed this entire area with my shadows.
"Time's up, mafia."
"W-wait, what do you want?! money?! power?! wealth?! I give it all to you! please spare me!"
"What I want, huh...good question."
"Y-yeah, please think about it! I can give everything to you!"

"You won't be able to give it to me." I said as the lifeless body of Hokuto fell into the ground.
Huh, he actually pissed me off to the point I used my gun. I guess I need to work on my temper if I want. Oh well, time to scan his computer. There might be some valuable data in it.
I went to his computer and he somehow already turned it off. Quick thinking by a measly mafia, I must say. Oh well, I'll just turn it on again.
But when I clicked the power button on the CPU, I smelled gunpowder.
'shit' I thought to myself.

Good thing I managed to get inside the shadows in time. I got to escape to a nearby building because of that. Goodness.
"Nice reflexes, Rogue." a voice came from behind me. It belonged to a woman. From her appereance, she's in her early 20's.
"And you are?"
"My name is Marina. I'm a secretary."
"I didn't ask for your occupation. How did you get behind me?"
"Relax, I'm not here to fight. But I'm here to deliver a message." she said as she lifts her hand and to reach her watch.
"A power watch, I assume?"
"Indeed." she pressed a button on her watch and a hologram appeared from her watch face.
"Greetings, Rogue. I am Masquarade, the one you're looking for. Hidden Legion's leader."
I was visibly surprised. This woman infront of me....is related to Masquarade?
"I know you're surprised by the sudden appereance. But you see, I was able to calculate that you're going to kill Hokuto tonight, that's why I planted that trap. Although I'm impressed that you survived." Said the masked psychopath's hologram.
"Quit the flattery already, psycho."
"You see, I've observed you since the past 6 months of your debut. I must say you're quite daring, challenging me like that. I guess you're pretty immature, given you're walking into your death. But I respect your dedication, Rogue. Let's play a game, shall we? who will find each other first. And by then, let's slit each other's throat." and finally, the hologram dissapeared.
"You've gained the attention of Masquarade sama. And now, Rogue. We, Hidden Legion, declare war on you." Marina exclaimed.
"Fine by me. I'll start by slitting your throat right now." I preapared my dagger and rushed forward, but suddenly Marina teleported, leaving the place with a measly letter.
'See you next time, Rogue' is all the letter say.
"I guess I've made quite the interesting enemy...." I mutter to myself.
