Chapter 8: Orario

Orario was huge.

The walls of he city alone towered over me thousands of times over and the magnificent tower of Babel towered of the the walls many times over as well.

As I walked up to the city gate, I was stopped by a guard.

"do you have any identification sir?"

He wore full plate armour with a chain mail vest underneath.

He had long shaggy black hair and deep enchanting blue eyes.

He was totally my type of guy, but then I through that hitting on him may be a bad idea, he looked a lot older than I did, and last time I hit on someone it did not go well for me.

So putting that thought to the back of my mind, I answered his question.

"No, I came from a village a few days south of here, it's my first time in Orario"

"what's your business here in the city?"

"I came here to be an adventurer"

"*sight* of course you did, most people these days are here to be an adventurer, making it big in the dungeon is the dream of most people, but if this is your first time in the city then illness to issue you a temporary ID just until you register with the guild, and I'll also give you a map of the city, it can be hard if you don't know your way around"

"no need, I already got a map, my brother was an adventurer and he gave me one while he was visiting home"

"oh, well, in that case, I'll get you ID ready, I'll need you to come with me and answer a few more questions though"

"ok"

After getting a Temp ID I entered the city.

After a few hours of wandering around and putting in a few locations into the Map function, I knew the basic layout of most of the city, except for a few areas like the red light district and the Tower of Babel.

But when the sun started to set, it got me thinking about where I would go from here.

What familiar do I join, I was tempted to go and join the Hestia Familia, but then Idecided against it.

While Bell may not be the stories MC anymore, he may still the target of Freyas' tomfoolery.

And I wanted nothing to do with Freya.

She was evil and nearly killed a lot of people just to get to Bell.

I could always go and join the Hephaestus Familia or the Loki Familia.

If I joined the Loki Familia, I'd be apart of the most powerful Familia in the City, at least in my eyes, and if I showed Loki my Power of raising the Shadows of the dead, I might have her full support.

Or if I joined the Hephaestus Familia I could get the chance to expand my Arsenal of Magical Item Functions of the system, and I could also use the system to get materials for my projects.

And if I could convince Hephaestus, I might be able to learn how to make magical weapons from her, but I knew the chances of that were low, I'd need a lot of time to learn how to do that, and I wanted to make levelling up and getting stronger my number one priority.

Or I could see if there was any other Familia in the city that I could join.

After a little while of thinking I had decided to go and see if the guild could help me find a Familia.
