Chapter 73: Sei Shonagon & Miku in Trouble
After making the selection a bright flash of light appeared before us as a human sized spinning golden card appeared before it stopped with the picture of an Archer on the front of it.
Soon the coating of the card itself flaked away and revealed a young looking girl that appeared to be wearing a school girl looking uniform appeared before us as she stepped out as the card disappeared completely.
"I'm here in answer to your summons!
My name is Sei Shounagon, an Archer Servant.
I may have put down my brush, but my extensive knowledge of all things is sure to aid you.
Though I won't be responsible if I'm wrong...teeheeheehee.
Um...can I be done with my greeting?
Just take good care of me, Chan-mas!" The energetic girl said as she appeared before us before looking a bit confused.
"Ano…. Are you Chan-mas? Or are you?" Sei said seemingly confused whether I or Saki was her master.
Seeing this I push Saki forward, "She will be your master from now on Sei, I just helped summon you here is all." I explain to her which gets her all excited as she takes Saki's hands.
"Then I'll be in your care Chan-mas! Oh and you can just call me Nagiko, so take care of me!" She said all excited like before she went over and hugged Saki who just hugged her back.
(N) Chan-mas is a cutesy way of saying Master, it's something she does in game so she will be doing it here too.
"Well there was a bit of a reason why we called you here, Saki you should probably tell her." I say getting Nagiko's attention as she pulls away.
"You needed me to help you with something Chan-mas?" She asked as she tilted her head to the side.
"Well actually…. Why I had Hifumi help summon you for me is because I plan on being a Mangaka in the future and I need someone who is knowledgeable in making stories to help me, and you were my best fit so…." Daki said nervously as she pushed her fingers together but this just made Nagiko smile.
"Of course Chan-mas! I'll help you out with making your stories! So rule number one of story making is to make things from the world around you! So let's go and explore and see what stories we can make with the world around us!" Nagiko said with enthusiasm as she grabbed Saki before dragging her away towards the door.
"Wait! Wait! Wait! I don't even have my drawing supplies or anything to write down with!" Daki said as she was trying to stop Nagiko but she was still stronger than her due to her servant status after all.
"Don't worry about all that, I may look like this but my years dealing with courtly affairs I have a very good memory, so let's go hit the town and explore to see what's out there, when we finish we can write down what we remembered and get ideas from it all!" She said undeterred as she let Saki slip on her shoes before they opened the door.
"Bye-bye Hifumi-chi! Me and Chan-mas are going out have some fun!" She said with a pep in her step before they both left as I waved them off.
"Well…. She's an interesting character." Mikan says as scratches her head, and I can't blame her she doesn't act or look like Sei Shonagon but it is in fact her.
"Well that's just her personality is all I just hope everything is fine…" Who knows what that girl will end up doing with Saki, but I know that she is strong enough to protect her so no worries on that part at least.
*Vrrr Vrrr*
I felt my phone vibrate so I opened it to see who texted me, surprisingly it was Miku, it had been a few months since I saw her, we chat occasionally but she only texts of Fridays so it's weird for her to text me on a Monday afternoon where she is usually with her friends.
"Hifumi, I need help." Is all the text said which was quite worrying as nothing bad should be happening to her now after her mystic eyes were fixed.
'Are her eyes on the fritz again?' "Are your eyes not working properly again? Can you see them?" I ask back which I get a "Yes" from her.
"Alright, I'll meet up with you after school tomorrow, let's meet at the nearby WcRonalds, that area for reasons I can't get into is a safe zone that Spirits can't enter so let's talk their alright?" I say to her as I plan to talk to her at Maou's workplace as it's the safe public area as his ambient demonic nature scares off all types of spirits.
She said she would before I close my phone, "One of my friends needs my help so I'm going to not be able to go over to Hopes Peak like usual because of that." I explain to Mikan before I sit down on the couch next to the sleepy Briar.
"Oh okay…. But what should we do with her then?" Mikan says looking over at Briar.
"Well the best place is to let her stay here as I'm the only person who can keep her from going Berserk, and if she needs blood I'm the only one that can feed her without dying, if she's still too much trouble I'll send her to the world of One Piece instead." I go onto explain to her.
"Oh…. Okay, well I think it's best I head back home then, I don't want to keep you for so long." Mikan says as she prepares to leave.
"Yeah, but one more thing." I say as I get up and walk over to her as she turns and looks at me with a puzzled look on her face.
I just smirk before lifting her chin and pulling her in for a brief but intimate kiss on the lips.
"?!?!" Mikan's eyes open wide, but before she could do anything I pulled away as her eyes all went swirly, her face grew red hot as steam came out from the top of her head as a result.
"Wawawawa" she couldn't put a cohesive sentence together as that was our first kiss together as whenever I suggested it to her before she would get all shy and would run away like a scared girl so I had to surprise her this time.
"Goodnight Mikan." I said as Florence reappeared to help lead her out of the house as she had lost the ability to think, speak or do anything so she needed help getting home now.
After waving her goodbye I shut the door and smiled, "Well I'm getting closer to my goal at least." I then head back into the apartment before I go over and pick Briar up.
I then go to the guest room before putting her down and tucking her in for the night as she slept with a happy smile on her face.
"Time for bed." I say before I head to my bedroom and hit the hay as tomorrow I'll have plenty of other things to do.
Though what I thought would be a simple procedure would turn out into a cleansing operation of massive proportions to keep an entire school safe from the ghoulie's that lurk on the other side of the world.
