Chapter 1020: A peculiar bunch
"Thank you, Judge Yang Qing, for saving my mother," Fan Cai instantly said, once it was just the three of them, grinning ear to ear.
His mother threw a look at him that one would see in mothers who were about to discipline their children for misbehaving in public.
Fan Cai instantly flinched like prey sensing the presence of a predator. Luckily whatever fears he had from that look remained unrealized as he saw his mother's gaze soften which only emboldened him to slather Yang Qing with more praise, who humbly refused the thanks as he lowered his station as but a humble practitioner of fairness.
Yang Qing didn't delay much as he revealed his reason for having Fan Ha to remain behind.
"During your time at the Deer Mountain Range did you know an eclipse spiritweave fox?" asked Yang Qing.
Fan Ha looked slightly surprised by the question as she paused briefly looking baffled. Well as much as she could with her favored taciturn expression.

Daynightdreamer Hey, sorry for the irregular updates which might continue for a bit. My mom passed just recently on Tuesday so my head has been a bit out of it and also have been swamped as we make the arrangements to lay her to rest. The updates will be sporadic throughout this week going on to next week, hopefully, God willing things will settle down after.
