Chapter 203: Chapter 203: A Bad Man

The nurse steered me down the bright white corridor. Dr. Collins insisted on me going to the ER, just to make sure there were no problems, other than the head injury.

Never far from my side, Ellis stayed as the boys trailed behind, Hope held to Ellis’s manly chest. A beautiful image that nearly brought me to tears. I’d done the right thing having Ken call Ellis first.

I was taken from my family and into a room to be checked out. They helped me move from the wheelchair to the more comfortable hospital bed. It probably made it easier to check my vitals and such.

No sooner was I in the gown and sitting down again than I was getting connected to an I.V. feed. I barely noticed the pinch as the needle end went in. Only getting concerned when I saw what was in the bag hanging above me.

Ellis came in with the kids, just as the I.V. was put in, which couldn't be a worse time.
