Chapter 40: Save the girls

Glinda knew that Olivia could save them. She was strong enough. Olivia had come like a new hope when she had let go of herself in this dark hole.

If she would not have killed that bastard, Glinda was sure she had killed herself to save her from the torment.

When Olivia asked her to leave with her, Glinda told her about other girls. She told Olivia it was more important to save them from getting broken, as she was already tainted and it would not matter if it would be one or a few more days to survive in this hell hole. She would wait for Olivia to come back after saving all of them.

But when these knights came to save her, it was a shock to her. She was sure that they must have ulterior motives, but so far they have only shown her kindness. Especially this man, Alex. he was not like other knights she had met in this empire.

He was kind and though his words and actions show his distant and cold nature, he had spared enough time to make sure that she was safe and fine.

And now he wanted to save all those girls who were nothing to him. Just why?

The thought that there might be too many men guarding the area where girls are kept haunted her and she was afraid for her princess though she knew she had skills.

""Even if it would cost you the lives of so many innocent girls?" This line caught her off guard. She bit her lips and sucked a deep breath.

"Can you promise me that none would be sold or get hurt if I share all the information with you?" Alex nodded in a heartbeat, there was no doubt in his eyes as he stared back at the girl.

It did not matter which empire they belonged to. They are little girls and kids that need to be protected.

Looking at his clear eyes, she gave in and nodded her head. Picking up the paper, she noted the address and all the things she knew about the place.

Though she was not much aware about this empire, she had heard them speaking and telling that "Alfstan tower is famous for having the best customers." She repeated all that to him when she noticed that his expressions were getting darker. Something told her that the risk was much more than she had thought and she gulped.

"You do not need to worry. I have never broken any promise." he assured her before leaving with his friends when she raised her head and prayed to god for their welfare.

"I thought that we had closed the dealings of the tower the last time we attacked it." Tavern did not like the fact that the place was still working. His lips curled downwards with a deadly light coming out from his dark eyes.

"They are not only to listen easily. Especially when they have the support of the emperor." Alex knew that the place was known for the hub of all the crimes but selling humans as slaves were most famous among it.

"This time, I will break the whole tower so that it can never be used again." Tavern muttered as they all climbed on their horses when Ethan shook his head.

Breaking the tower only meant that they were challenging the authority of the emperor. Though they were famous among the commoners, nobles never liked them and so did the emperor.

They had felt that Alex and his group were challenging their authority by closing all the shady business they had closed their eyes upon. These kind of business pay a good deal of taxes and even supply slaves and other things to nobles which they have started to enjoy.

"Instead of fighting head on. We will subdue the guards holding the slaves and take them away from backdoor. When they would not have anything to sell, not only the auction would cancel but they would lose their credibility too.

If there would have been any noble in the clients group, he would make sure to take action against the group as he would take it as his insult.

If not, we can always find a chance to punish them later. But right now, our main goal is the safety of girls.'' It has taken a long time for him to accept that he would let go of the criminals.

They all looked at him surprised. Since then Alex had learned to let go but they all understood how necessary it was.

They wore dark cloaks before stopping in front of the big tower that was crowded in the dark night.

A lot of rich men and nobles could be seen entering wearing fancy gowns and expensive clothes. They all were chattering among themselves and it looked like they were having fun as they entered.

"What a bunch of scumbags! Did they feel no shame in doing these atrocious deeds while calling themselves the nobles!" Tavern's hands clenched and unclenched as he tried to control his anger. If possible, he wanted to go forward and punch on their faces so that the smile could be taken down with a few broken teeth.

"We do not have time. If they are already going in. That means the auction would start any moment. There are more than a dozen girls waiting for us there." Alex felt these are the rare moments when Ethan thought before speaking as he saw him patting the shoulders of Tavern who was seething with anger.

It took a few more deep breaths for the man to control his anger and nod his head. Only then did all three of them start to walk into the tower with a backdoor they have found after fighting here for so many times.

They climbed to the third floor from the window where mostly they keep their so called goods before selling when Ethan stated,

"I will guard the door, you two go in."
