Chapter 46: Facing Through
"M-my... Lady..." He called out.
My dead blank expression didn't change at all seeing him but in my mind I was wishing that he would say something that he could believe in me I want to go back like we used to do already.
All he did was to stare at me in silence, I sighed frustratedly I was about to pass through him when he held my hand stopping me from walking.
I looked again into his crimson eyes but he looked away and released my hand, I disappointedly turned my back against him and I continued walking towards the library.
I have no time for him if he keeps acting like that to the fact I have limited days to live to the fullest inside of 11 months or shorter even I needed him to make a faster research but it is still important to me yo gain his trust...
Before opening the library door, I glanced at him who was walking away with a head down.
"I'm worried..." I subconsciously uttered out I was just ignoring Sylar but I was really worried about him with that look and face looks very exhausted and tired haven't he got any rest since the day we got into a conflict?
I turned my head and opened the door to enter the library, I went in with clenched fist holding my self together, I did that not to pity him but trying to make him trust me.
I stopped in the middle of the library and thought...
I was forcing him to trust me....
I trusted him so much and that's all he returned for me but then I remembered all how he took care of me, saved me and stayed with me. That's all I have to return to him after what he did for the last few days being together after meeting? I trusted him even I had experienced something bad with him and immediately forgave him.
I looked down...
Yea... we've just met in a few days and we are still an acquaintance, he must've doing all of those thing for his contract on this household and not as 'his lady' but a master to serve on.
I took a deep breath and relaxed myself. I'll ignore this matter for now, I need to continue what I am going to do.
Once again I snoop around the library but now its not about the vial of life but a book of herbs about it's uses and where it can be found.
But the books I've found are counted with the fingers of my both hands and only thick as an inch.
I expected more of herb books than these novel fantasy books I tried looking for yesterday, it is just a disappointment but I think this would be also enough for the whole day studying each of these books.
I carried five of the herb based books towards the table then opened the first book I grabbed.
I've read every detail that could possibly mentioned on the book of Liefde voor Bloed, It's real name, substitute name, local name, even it's scientific name, where it could be found and it's uses.
I spend seconds that turned into several minutes and minutes that turned into few hours and during these times there are few people coming in with a shocked expression then greets me with these...
"Oh! Good morning Lady Wisteria" I answer them back with a good morning as well.
Even sometimes there are gossiping maids coming in when they saw me...
"Lady Wisteria?! Sorry for the intrusion" then bows I just waved my hand and smile saying its okay.
Before the come out they kept on glancing towards me then they all come out with a smile on their faces it's not a fake smile but a grateful one just from seeing me.
It makes my heart feel relaxed seeing them like that they don't grudge towards me like in the other households around this city when I visited one before coming back home, The main householder is a male and I saw how he treats his maids there, he called them trash, a hoe while he hurts them using various types of punishments even his wife that he mistreats that turned to be flirting into some butlers in the house.
I sighed and thought I don't wanna go back there. I'm lucky to see how happy these people when they see me until then someone stood right in front of the table when I loooed up it was Riguel with a tray on his hand.
"Good Morning again Lady Wisteria, I brought some Finger Foods and a Dessert so you're full while reading" He said as he placed the tray on a empty space on the table.
When I took a glance to the food that is placed on the tray, it was squid rings with golden fried breading on the first plate accompanied by a viscous black sauce, on the second plate there are marshmallows with a sliced strawberry on top with chocolaye sauce and on the last plate there is a cheese cake that is looking very fluffy but now I can't take my eyes off from those foods.
Then I heard Riguel laughing "It's for you Lady Wisteria have a bite" He said then giving me a spoon and a fork on my hand.
With his temptation, I grabbed the utensils and used the fork to get a squid rings then dipping it into it's sauce when I put it on my mouth the rich slightly salted and sweet flavor of the sauce surrounded inside my mouth then when I took a bite from the squid it's cover is so crunchy and the squid inside it is soft enough that it completely combines all the flavor and texture in a perfect way.
"Hmmm delicious..."
"Glad you like it.." he said as he pat my head.
After swallowing one I wiped the fork with the tissue on the tray then I pierced to the-.. the marshmallow is slightly roasted then I put it on my mouth carefully not trying to make a mess with the chocolate drippings.
Ohhh.... The sweetness of the crunchy strawberry, together with the aroma of the chocolate and the slight stickiness of the marshmallow is just perfect for me.
"You're torturing me with this foods" I said with a full mouth.
"Don't talk when you mouth is full Lady Wisteria you might get chocked by it's sweetness" He said then he winked I can't help to laugh to what he just said then I carefully swallowed the food inside of my mouth preventing myself from choking.
"That's so corny Ryry" I laughed then Riguel just chuckled then looked through the books I'm reading.
He held on unopened book then silently read the contents of it. "Lady Wisteria?" He called.
"Yes? What is it?" I asked back getting a scoop from the cheesecake.
"What is this all about Lady Wisteria with this herbs?" He asked sitting on the table.
I knew this was coming I already thought of an excuse and said while looking away "Oh! That's.. err It just caught my interest for uhm... I thought it will be nice if we.. If we have some herbs in the garden together with the blooming plants?" I tried to speak straight up but I got nervous and my voice sounds cracked, now great I hope he doesn't get suspicious.
"Are you sure?" He asked with a sound of doubt on his question, I just wished to not get him suspicious!
I looked at him straight into his eyes. "Yes, I heard that evem some herbs could scare away insects, Wouldn't it be nice?" I said with a smile while slightly tilted my head.
Then he also smiled back at me "Sure, It'll be wonderfull if we get rid some pest and preserve some medicinal herbs in the garden" He said.
"Do you want me to help you find those specific herbs?" He asked with his sweet tone voice while slightly leaning on me.
I gently shook my head.
"It's fine Ryry, this will be a passing time for me too. Will you let me handle this?" I asked with pleading eyes but then Riguel suddenly looked suprised with a red face.
"Ye-Yea, I guess so" He said then looks away from me then he stands up.
"I'll take my leave Lady Wisteria, Will I bring your lunch here?" He asked not turning around towards me.
"Yes please serve me your best cook!" I said with a gleeful voice.
I saw him nod and walked away after he went our of the library door I felt like I can breathe normally.
I'm sorry Riguel if I lied to you about the herbs after that I looked back on the books and started reading again.
Then I remembered Lily mentioned about the name of the forest.. Luntian Light Forest what's the meaning of Luntian?
I quickly looked for a dictionary of international languages, It means verde in Spanish and Green in english?
Green Light Forest? Does she mean the green light emitting forest? that is location far north from here..
