At the party(chapter 1)
It was 8:00pm and the party was filled with elites.There was a soft music playing at the background as elites interacted with each other It was the 32nd Royal company limited anniversary,as time went by each elite congratulated the CEO of the company and wished him blessings and prosperity.
These type of people what mattered to them was connections, contract deals and money Everyone had their tricks and cheat codes to play tonight what they never cared about was sisterhood or brotherhood what they cared about the most was only partnership.What's the profits and gains if I work with him or her that's how their mind works.They flatter and praise you for their own gain with fake smiles plastered on their face Some can go as far as sale their children for marriage if it will benefit them for the so called business.If you succeed and surpusses them you bacame their target of jealousy,hate and envy,they will try their best to Impress and please you when you let your guard down they will stretch their fangs and suck you dry and leave you to your doom.Good with their brains but heartless by nature.
Jennie sat at the far corner of the building with a glass of wine,she was bored to death.She kept twirling the glass of wine as she watched elites interact with each other with fake smiles she hated this kind of parties the most,if not because he father had forced her to come she wouldn't have come to the party and share the same space as these hypocrites.She placed the glass of of wine on the table and stoop up,she headed to the centre of the building where the hosts at sorrounded by people she didn't know.
The people who sat next to the host saw her coming but they ignored her and continued chatting,they knew she wanted to say something to the host but they didn't excuse themselves.The host didn't mind it either,this didn't surprise her she was used to being treated like a nobody they knew she was the unfavoured daughter of her parents so she was of no use to them there was no need to be polite with her.She ignored the way the looked at her with disdain and mockery."Hello uncle and auntie" she greeted respectfully."Hello dear how are you?,you stopped coming to see us did my son do something stupid again?" Mr William asked."No uncle I have been busy and am fine hope you two are also fine I just want to wish you happy and prosperous 32nd anniversary" she replied."Thank you dear my son is coming back next week so you two can talk about your wedding I can't wait to have you as my daughter in law" Mrs William said happily.Jennie was surprised she had told her parents she wasn't interested in getting married but it seemed they didn't care.She smiled bitterly feeling hurt.
"Okay,I'll go for now we will talk later" she replied and turned to leave.She went back to her seat,her mood was ruined so she took another glass of wine."Why are you sitting here like you own the world instead of interacting with other people?" he asked.Jennie was startled it was her father she had thought thet won't come to the party but it seemed she was wrong."Hello mum an
d dad"she greeted."I don't need your greetings I told you to come to the party to make connections and get deals but instead you have isolated yourself from the other elites,do you think this is how things work you?,must find opportunities by yourself you don't want to get married and now you don't even know how to to behave in these kind of parties what kind of daughter are you?never good at anything" Mr Louis scolded her harshly.Jennie kept quite trying her best to hold her tears."The minister of public works is here today, I have heard there will be a big deal of constructing a hospital in the city and he will be in charge and alot of people want to snatch the deal so you better go and Impress him to get the contract and don't you dare fail" he said seriously.He pulled his wife and left.
Tears rolled down her cheeks,she was hurt her father never likes whatever she does .They never treated her like their daughter to them she was just an object of success once she gets married to a rich family.Her mother always give her pitiful looks and never says anything they hardly talk they are more of strangers than a mother and daughter.Luckily no one saw her being scolded she went to the female washroom,washed her face she took a long breath and left to search for the minister.She thought if she impressed the minister and get the contract her father might be happy and proud of her so she looked for the minister and saw him walk outside.
Jennie followed him outside and saw that he was on a call so she waited patiently for him.She was nervous but she was determined to get the contract at any cost.The minister was done talking on the phone and turned around he was surprised to see a beautiful young lady dressed in a black dress standing far behind him."Hello sir am Jennifer Louis chief marketing officer of Louis construction company" she introduced."Hello miss Louis and why do I owe your beautiful presence?" he asked ."I have heard that there will be a construction of a hospital in the city and you're in charge so I hoped you could consider working with us" she replied respectfully."Ooh news do travel fast but miss Louis you know the government has set aside billions of money to build this hospital it will be the largest and biggest hospital in our country so it's no child's play are you sure your company meets the requirements?" he asked.
"Yes sir as you know Louis construction company is the biggest and largest construction company in our country we don't overprice our clients,we have worked with the government for more than ten years we build quality buildings we have built hospital, malls,schools, rentalhouses,roads and even bridges and all our clients were satisfied with our work,I can show you some of our work if you agree for a meeting when you're free,I know you're a busy man" she said."I know about your company you're the daughter of Mr Louis right?" he asked."Yes" she replied,she became nervous if the minister knows that she is unfavoured child he might not consider to make the deal ."That's good to hear but this place is not good for talking about business why don't we go somewhere quite and peaceful" he said with a grin on his face.
