Chapter 29: I lied
"Ziyue, let's go. The discharge papers have been signed," Yuan Li began. "We can leave the hospital now. Your car is waiting downstairs."
Bai Liyue remained silent.
She slightly moved the curtains away and glanced outside the window. It was a bright sunny day and everything looked normal on the streets. People as well as many vehicles like cars and ambulances were going in and out of the entrance. It was a busy day. However, she did notice a few people with mics and cameras moving to and fro at the entrance of the hospital.
Moreover, she could see several paparazzi hiding in the bushes, or standing at different places in their terrible disguise. In her past life, she was so conscious of Qin Yufeng's indirect observations, those hidden cameras, and those bodyguards that even after standing at such a large distance, she could spot these paparazzi perfectly.
Suddenly, her phone rang. She took out the phone from her pocket and saw that it was Si Jingyun, her so-called perfect fiance. With a roll of her eyes, she picked up the call. "Yes?"
"Ziyue, where are you?"
"Still at the hospital," Bai Liyue answered.
"Oh, okay. Wait for me. I am coming to pick you up."
Bai Liyue frowned at his words. "Si Jingyun, there's no need for you to do that."
"But Ziyue, you are my fiance and I want to pick you up." he insisted over the phone. "You know, how much I care about you. I want to be there for you and take you back to your home. You might be quite unfamiliar with everything so I want -"
"I am not getting discharged, yet." Bai Liyue interrupted him in a bored tone.
"Huh?" There was a pause on the phone. "What? Ziyue, aren't you supposed to get discharged today? What's going on?"
"Si Jingyun, I am not feeling well." Bai Liyue informed and closed the curtain of the window. She turned around and walked toward the bed. Ignoring Yuan Li's confused face, she continued. "I am thinking of staying one more day at the hospital. Tomorrow, I will leave so you can pick me up them."
"Ziyue, what's wrong with you? Are you okay? Are you sick?"
"My head... it's hurting," she told him. "Si Jingyun, I will talk to you later. I need to rest."
"Okay, Ziyue. Take care. I'll call you later."
"Good."
After putting her phone down, Bai Liyue noticed Yuan Li. She smiled at her and leaned on her bed gently. When Yuan Li saw her strange action, she couldn't stop herself from asking her. "Ziyue, why are you feeling unwell?"
"No."
"B-but, you said on the phone that -"
"I lied," Bai Liyue shrugged carelessly as if it was no big deal.
"Why?"
"Si Jingyun is a busy man. I don't want to disturb him," she lied again. The truth was that she was avoiding that man. She did not like Si Jingyun and wanted to do nothing with him. However, since he was this body's fiance, she couldn't reject him on his face so, she lied.
Yuan Li smiled with a relieved sigh. "Oh, Ziyue... you are so thoughtful," she said. "For a second, I thought that you were really not going to leave."
"Who said I am?"
Yuan Li: "..........."
"Ziyue, what do you mean? You are not going to leave? Are you planning on staying here?" Yuan Li questioned with a frown. "Why? I mean, is everything okay?"
"Everything's okay," Bai Liyue answered.
Hearing that, a strange look flashed through Chen Ziyue's eyes and she frowned.
What the hell was going on? Why was Chen Ziyue acting so weird?
Suddenly, she looked at the window and wondered whether Chen Ziyue was aware of the paparazzi and the reporters that were hiding at the entrance of the hospital. According to the mysterious messenger's plan, as soon as Chen Ziyue would leave the entrance, these people would surround her and would not let her leave until she answers all of their questions.
This was to intimidate Chen Ziyue as well as to make people remember her bad deeds and scandal.
There was no way possible that Chen Ziyue was aware of these paparazzi and the reporters hiding below. She was not that capable.
So, why was she staying at the hospital?
"Ziyue, if you are fine, then why are you not leaving the hospital?" Yuan Li asked. "Is there any problem?"
"No problem."
"But, Ziyue -"
"Yuan Li, what are you worrying about? My dad is rich and he's paying for the room, right? So, that means I can stay here as long as I want," Bai Liyue informed. She leaned on the bed, opened her phone, and began to play a game. "So, don't worry about the money. It's not going from my pocket."
Yuan Li: "..........." (I am not worrying about your money, I am worrying about mine!!!)
If this plan fails, then she would get no money from that mysterious messenger. After all, it was her responsibility to get Chen Ziyue out of this hospital through the entrance. The more she looked at her, the more her mood became depressed. From Chen Ziyue's posture, it was quite clear that she was not going to leave this room.
What to do? How to get her out of this room?
"Ziyue, what about your discharge papers? We have already signed them," she said, hoping that this might change Chen Ziyue's mind.
"Ah... I completely forgot about the discharge papers," Bai Liyue smacked her forehead, giving her an innocent look. A small smile appeared on Yuan Li's face when she heard those words, This meant that Chen Ziyue would leave the room and she wouldn't have to lose her money, however, Chen Ziyue's next words completely broke all her happiness.
"Don't worry, I will talk to the nurse about it. There will be no problem."
"Huh? Okay." Yuan Li nodded, hiding the anger in her eyes.
Wooh..... All her money is gone!!!!! And, it is all because of this woman, Chen Ziyue!!!!
