When the poor male servant saw the anger on his Master's face, he was scared stiff. He didn't know what to say. There was no orange juice in the kitchen. With a pale face and trembling hands, he stammered. "M-master... I, I.. I...."
"WHERE IS THE JUICE?!?!?!" Qin Yufeng fumed.
With each passing second, his fury was rising higher. When he saw the stammering servant, his face contorted with rage. His hands shook uncontrollably as he looked for something to grab. Immediately, his hands found the plate kept in front of him. Seeing red, he grabbed the plate and threw it right toward the poor servant.
CRASH!!!!
The plate crashed into the ground, shattering into several small pieces making the food content go all across the floor. The poor servant jumped back in fright while Qin Liling flinched in her chair and grabbed onto her chair tightly, not daring to look at her brother. Her heart was pounding in her chest with fear for the poor servant.
"YOU DARED NOT TO BRING MY WIFE'S FAVORITE JUICE FOR HER!!!! I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!" Qin Yufeng roared. He rose from his seat and glared at the trembling servant as if he was looking at a dead person.
The poor male servant was too scared to say a thing.
Everyone held onto their breath, praying for the poor servant but no one dared to speak up for him. All of them knew that if they spoke for the servant, then it would be their lives that would get in danger. Since the death of their mistress, their Master was never in his right senses and hence, no one dared to speak in front of him.
Luo Jin sighed, noticing the immense anger on his friend's face. Just when he was about to get up and speak up for the servant, he saw Qin Yufeng stop. The expression on Qin Yufeng's face changed within a quick second. Realizing what was going to happen, Luo Jin shrugged his shoulder and sat back in his seat with a sigh.
"Love.... where are you going? Come down...." Qin Yufeng said as he looked at the stairs. "Love, it's not good to skip your breakfast. I am sorry. I know you don't like it when I get angry and shout at other people. I'll try to change myself. Just come down and eat your breakfast with me."
Everyone glanced at the stairs and saw no one there. But they knew that in their Master's mind, their mistress must be getting angry at him and running upstairs to her bedroom. This was a usual scenario in this house when their mistress used to be alive. She often used to get upset at their Master if he yelled, shouted, or got angry at the breakfast table.
Now, seeing that their Master was still living in that illusion, everyone only felt pity for him.
Qin Yufeng continued to look at the stairs for the next two minutes. Finally, he let out a frustrated sigh and banged his fist on the dining table.
BANG!
Qin Liling flinched again.
"Once again I made her upset," he muttered to himself in a low voice. "Dammit!!! What kind of a husband I am? Why do I always do things that make her angry?"
Next, he glanced at the trembling servant who was responsible for making him angry. Seeing him, his eyes flashed with anger but this time, he simply sneered at the servant. "You are fired!!!!" After that, he grabbed his coat, walked past everyone, and rushed out of the Mansion.
It was only after Qin Yufeng left did everyone took a big breath of relief. Two servants quickly came with the broom to clean up all the mess while Housekeeper Cui helped the poor male servant back on his feet. The servant was still in a state of shock and thanked Housekeeper Cui for helping him up. Housekeeper Cui sighed, as he looked at the boy with pity. He checked to see if the boy suffered from any wounds and when he found none, he was glad.
"Housekeeper Cui, just give the boy his wages and a bonus. Also, clear off his accounts." Luo Jin said.
"Yes, Master Luo."
After the male servant and Housekeeper Cui left, two maids quickly began to tidy up the dining table and began to serve. "It's getting worse," she commented and looked at Luo Jin. "I have even lost count of how many servants Brother Qin had fired since the three three years."
"At least he hasn't killed anyone," Luo Jin joked.
Qin Liling looked at him with her eyes narrowed. "I am serious, Brother Luo. You keep saying that he's fine but he doesn't look fine to me anymore. Even the servants are scared to work here anymore. Since my sister-in-law's death, he's been acting crazy."
"You wouldn't say that if you were present here before the last three years...."
Qin Liling sorted. "Brother Luo, are you sure he's fine? I mean, I think we should get him some treatment."
"Do you really think that you brother will agree on that?" Luo Jin asked.
"No, but he's -"
"Liling," Luo Jin interrupted her, put his hand over hers and gave her a reassuring smile. "Trust me, he's fine. I know you are worried about your brother but he's not crazy. He's not insane. Though he acts like Bai Liyue is present with him and he does all these crazy things, but he knows in his heart that she's not here with us anymore."
"TThen why?"
"Because he wants to keep her alive, in his mind, in his heart and in his life. He's fine living in an illusion where he images that she is alive but he can't bear to live in a world knowing that she is not here with him anymore. We all know why Bai Liyue committed suicide. Hence, deep down in his heart, he still blames himself for his actions, for that fight and for everything he did to her."
"And in a way, I think this is good for him, living like this. Atleast, he's not trying to kill himself anymore."
"Hmmm." Qin Liling sighed sadly.
