Chapter 205: Questionable taste

Maxim brought Diana down from the table and grabbed her hand.

He almost started pulling her out of the bookstore until Diana stopped him. 

"I have something to do,'' she freed her hand from his grip, 

He watched helplessly as she went to collect every book that he had left a clue in. While doing so, she turned to look at him, ''You did not mention anything about this when we came here,'' Diana raised the first book that led her to the first clue, ''Had I not noticed this book, were you going to say anything?" 

Maxim shook his head, ''I would have taken it as my cue to wait longer.'' 

He had placed his bets on whether she would notice the book or not. It was a risky thing to do and the outcomes in his head were not optimistic at all.

Diana's response was a surprise and he could not ask for anything more. 

But when he was preparing this, he had thought of every possible negative outcome. Hence, he had decided beforehand.
