Chapter 1: WHAT THE FU-!!!
[Time- 9:47 pm]
The sky had darkened, the sun had set and the lights were on. People were hustling around, some closing up their shops, others hurrying to go home and the party goers were preparing for the night life.
A lone figure could be observed walking down the pavement rather slowly, you could tell he was tired and exhausted.
"Damn those bastards! Bunch of jerks, just dumping their work on me and leaving!" the young man could be heard mumbling to himself.
Lucien Clover was his name, an average 25 year old young man who finished school, graduated from a decent college and found a job in a corporate company.
Unfortunately for him, he found out a bit too late that he was working for a black company, as he was in a hurry to pay off his student loans.
Lucien couldn't leave his job as he had his loans to be paid, plus he would have to break his contract with the company that required him to work for 3 years with them.
Which if he did would land him in a lawsuit that would force him to pay a hefty compensation which he obviously did not have.
So, he stuck with it. Day in and day out, 6 days a week from morning till night, he worked and worked, slaving his life away at the stupid company. While others were out there enjoying life and having fun, he was working.
The only reason he did not give up was the fact that his contract was almost over, in 2 months, and that his student loans were paid off by the money he earned through his job.
"When the contract ends, the first thing I'm going to do is get the hell out of this shit hole of a company!" Lucien declared to himself.
As he walked, he looked down at his arm to check the time.
[9:58pm]
"Damn…it's really late, at least it's a Sunday tomorrow!" He whispered to himself.
"Wonder what I should do tomorrow?" He thought mindlessly.
"Maybe watch some anime or read some fanfics."
That's right! Lucien was what one would consider a weeb. Anime and manga were some of the hobbies he picked up and genuinely enjoyed during past years, it was his only solace while working at the black company.
He was a fan of most anime and he enjoyed reading manga as well. Since he hardly had any time to have a social life due to his job he turned to fiction for enjoyment.
He stopped his internal monologue when he reached the road crossing and waited for the lights to turn green so that he could cross the road.
As he looked around, he saw a truck coming and jokingly wondered "will the truck lose control and run me over, finally isekai me to another world?"
He waited with baited breath and faint nervousness as the truck neared, his heart rate increasing as it got closer and closer till it...
Just pass him by without anything happening.
"Haaa…." He let out a sigh and loosened his tense nerves.
"What was I even expecting? Man, that was so stupid of me!! He thought embarrassingly while his face turned red.
The light turned green and he hurriedly crossed the road wanting to get home fast. He took a quick glimpse of his watch once more.
[10:12pm]
Soon after, Lucien reached near his apartment complex. He walked into the building and headed over to the lift and pressed the UP button but it did not work, so he tried again and it did not turn on.
Realizing the situation, Lucien cursed "FUCK! This stupid lift isn't working!"
"Aarrghh!! Can this day get any worse!!??" He screamed in frustration.
Lucien was mad because now he had to climb a shit ton of stairs as his room was on the sixth floor. He was tired and hungry, and definitely not in the mood to get some workout in.
"Haaaa..." letting out a sigh of frustration and getting his emotions under control, he goes towards the stairs.
The stairs in the apartment weren't inside the building, rather it was beside it. Which in his opinion was kind of weird, not to mention dangerous.
By the time he finished climbing the stairs, he was out of breath and sweating a lot.
"Huff!….huff!"
He sat down on the stairs to catch his breath and calm himself.
After some time, he looks at his watch again and sees the time.
[10:34pm]
"Damn it!… did it really take me more than 15 mins just to climb up six floors? He asks himself incredulously.
"I think I should really start taking care of my body, maybe instead of sitting inside my room all day I should go outside for a walk" he decides.
Lucien stands up to get to his room and just as he was about to take a single step forward. He was hit with a blast of vertigo.
"Wha-?"He started but couldn't compete as he started wobbling.
His sense of balance seemed to have disappeared and he started having trouble breathing. He could hear his heartbeat increasing and his head felt like it was filled with molten lava.
"Argh…it hurts! What's going on?" He thinks while trying to hold on to the edge of the staircase.
However, he lost his balance and missed the rail. The next thing knows is feeling a sense of weightlessness and a sudden drop in his stomach.
His cloudy mind clears up instantly and the first thing he sees is the ground. His heart stops in fear realizing what is happening and he opens his mouth to scream in fear.
"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" He screams as he falls down the building.
The last thing he remembers seeing is the moon, shining brightly in the night sky.
The time was [10:37pm].
...…
"Darkness…..that was all that he could see. Darkness everywhere."
As his fuzzy consciousness came to, he asked "where am I?"
His question reverberated throughout the empty void, rippling through the darkness echoing.
[I WONDER WHAT YOUR STORY SHALL BE]
A mighty voice that was convoluted and barbed sounded, though Lucien could not hear what was said, he instinctively understood what was told.
"What do you mean?" He shouts in surprise but receives no answer.
The next thing he knew was a blinding light, like a million sun exploding, erupted before him and devoured him into darkness.
When he opened his eyes, what he saw left him utterly confused.
A giant hulking black figure figure, who's full frame he could yet see, standing over him with its monstrous hand with its wicked claws outstretched coming for him.
It was a dragon.
"WHAT THE FU-!!!!"
