Chapter 12: Chapter twelve - colors of rage

The drive home was as awkward as one could imagine, although it was not as Catherine expected. She thought William would say a whole lot of mean things to her, she thought he would get the hint that she said something to her mother to convince her to stop her father from signing the papers.

Although, something didn't seem right, it was either the latter or, her father actually signed the papers, since william wasn't saying anything. She was so confused but she hoped her thoughts were wrong.

When they finally got home, without saying anything to each other, William got out of the car and slammed the door aggressively, leaving Catherine, Jorge and the driver to get behind . By the time Catherine got into the mansion, she started feeling sick in her guts because she was very worried.

She was thinking seriously about how and when she was going to explain everything to her mother to make her understand with William's knowledge since it was starting to feel like she was his prisoner or something, and as for William, she didn't understand why he was so mute.

She held her hand on her belly as she made her way up the stairs very slowly since she wasn't ready to deal with being in the same room with William, she just didn't have any other choice. When she got to the room, she heard the sound of running water from the bathroom which meant William was already in the shower.

She saw his clothes lieing on the bed. It was so inconveniencing because she also needed to take a shower, and even if she wanted to use the bathroom downstairs, it meant she'd still need to go into the bathroom and get her moisturizer, bathwash and everything else she would need to shower.

After picking out her pajamas, she waited patiently on the bed for William to get out of the shower, after a few minutes, the sound of running water stopped. As William came out of the bathroom, he saw Catherine sitting on the bed, he shot daggers at her.

The moment she turned to looked at him, he immediately turned away. She stood up and made her way to the bathroom, with her head buried in the ground, she grabbed a towel, her bathwash and everything else, while she went to grab the final thing she needed which was her pajamas, she walked right past William to get that which was on the other side of the bed.

While William was wiping his face with his face towel, he looked down at Catherine who was struggling to pick things up with her hands filled with bathing materials, "And what the fuck do you think you're doing?!" He asked, unable to hide the fumes in his eyes.

Catherine flickered her eyes at him, "I want to go..." She cleared her throat, "I want to get my things together." She continued.

"Catherine, clearly I can see that! I'm not dumb and that is not the answer to the question I asked now." William responded in a firm tone.

"William I don't have time for this--"Catherine responded. The only thing Catherine's response did I William was make him even more angry. He could no longer suppress his anger. He threw the towel to the ground, approached Catherine where she was trying to pick up her pajamas and pulled her arm tightly, drawing her attention to himself and making her drop all the things she managed to gather, on the floor.

"Ouch! Ouch! Ouc-- William what are you doing?!" Catherine asked in pain as she tried to free herself from William's grip with her other hand.

"Don't fucking ask stupid questions" William said through his gritted teeth. "Do you think I'm interested in those your retarded responses? Do you think I'm in the mood for that nonsense? Oh so you think I don't know you have a hand in your father's refusal to sign the documents today?" William flashed his eyes at Catherine as he spoke to her, anger and bitterness running through his veins.

The words of his mouth made Catherine's heart skip a beat, the way he pulled her and held her made her very much afraid of what he would do to her. But now atleast she was sure that her father didn't later sign the documents which was a good thing.

William tightened his grip on Catherine's arm trying to force a response from her, "Ow! Willi-- William please you're hurting me." Catherine pleaded, her eyes already lined with tears. "Please William I don't know what you're talking about."

"So now you're going to pretend huh? Fuck! Catherine I didn't think you're a liar."

"William please let go of me, you're hurting me . I have no idea of what you're talking about, I wasn't even there when you guys had that conversation." Catherine said, trying to deny everything.

William himself wasn't sure if Catherine had anything to do with her father's decision, only just suspected. He narrowed his eyes at Catherine and pushed her away from himself, "Useless!" He muttered as he walked away from her.

Catherine fell to the corner of the bed, luckily she was fast enough to use her elbow to protect her landing. She hurridly picked everything in a disarranged manner and ran out of the room with tears rolling down her cheeks.

When she got to downstairs to the guest room, she threw everything on the bed and immediately locked the door from behind, she leaned against it as she slowly slide down, she sat on the floor and cried bitterly while rubbing her elbow.

Her heart was racing and she had a a migraine, she was so scared. The memory of William pressing her arm kept replaying in her head. When she looked at him, all she could see what hatred and anger in his eyes.

She looked at her harm and rubbed the part William gripped tightly. It had reddish markings that resembled and were shaped like his finger shape. She tried to get up, using her two hands as support but she felt a stinging pain around her left elbow, "fuck!" She cursed quietly.

She managed to get up with the other hand as support. She eventually realized she had broken her elbow probably from when William pushed her away. Later that night, it seemed William and everyone else had gone to bed, she snuck out if her room because she was avoiding William.

She made her way to the kitchen to get a bandage and ointment for her broken elbow. She felt at peace when she didn't hear any other sound asides the sound of her footsteps. She wrapped her robe's band around her waist again to make sure it's tighter, she moment she stepped foot into the kitchen. She heard the refrigerator doors shut.

Her eyes grew wide because she only had one suspect and she just knew it was the one person she was avoiding. Her heart raced as she saw him pouring in a glass of milk and staring at her with a straight face.

"Where have you been?" He asked in a stern voice.
