"Finally, it is good to meet you, Sir Silent. you can call me Chester Bonham. I am your platoon leader. So my word is second to none."
"Why are you talking to me? What can you provide that would even make me believe you?"
"Well, being your boss, I was the one who collected you renowned. I alone know where your family is being held. Even Echo 1 doesn't know that."
*clank*
Chester's hand was on the table, and it was finally at this moment Cory gave a good look at the man who claimed to be his boss. He had gloves covering his hands, a brownish trench coat, a dark gray vest and formal white shirt finished with a red tie. But Cory's eyes widened at the very object underneath his hand. It was Charle's necklace; it was something that he never took off as it was a gift from their mother.
"I assume you know whose necklace this is?"
"Yes, you have my attention for now."
Cory remembered Echo 1's threats and did not dare to risk any of his family members being a test dummy for his next action. A single mistake was all it took. This is a prison planet, after all. The laws from other worlds don't apply here, as the only thing here holding anyone back was the fact that some special ability or device weakened people here. All it takes is a couple of good hits, and a normal person could kill a legendary killer if he was unaware of it.
"Sir Silent, with the fact that you are of renowned descent, you can accomplish things that normal people can't. We know even the weakest renowned soldier can run 45 miles an hour. So we'll be turning you into one. Your sheltered life will be behind you. Tomorrow consider yourself drafted, boot camp will be at 6."
Chester stood up and left the restaurant, leaving the necklace behind for Cory.
'Hey A.I. could you tell if he was telling the truth?'
'From what I could see, definitely. He is not a man you should be underhanded with. by the way, you can just call me Gecko'
'I kinda figured, I am just a little upset that you aren't some legendary gift giving system that levels me up.'
'those are for heros VILLAIN.'
The A.I. was actually sarcastic towards Cory, probably a fault from the borrowed intelligence.
'Cool it, HERO.'
Cory fell short with his retort and only responded with what he could think of. Cory didn't realize the odd scene of him actually looking like he was talking to an imaginary friend while a server was waiting to give him some food for the last couple of seconds, but the sound barrier was up yet. He looked at the server and his face turned red like a cherry tomato while he hastily push a button.

Cory could only feel like barfing as he pulled his hands to just underneath his jaw and chest in embarrassment. The server gave Cory his food and promptly left.
"I should really stop motioning everything I am thinking."
Cory could hardly hold his head up because of his own ridiculousness.
"I am just glad I get to enjoy myself until 10. After this, I should visit that library for a book. What time is it now?"
it was 6:30 according to the clock in the restaurant. His burger was delicious as he wolfed down the burger from being starved for who knows how long.
"That Cheese burger disappeared too quickly, let's finish my soda and go."
With his food done he left Lunar Launch.
That's one more chapter done. Feel free to check out Paradoxical Hope in the meantime.
